I've become curious as to when the platinum version was ever given away here on this site? I don't remember ever getting it and it's not among my downloads (from the beginning of this site) and going through search, it does not come up on the site. I'm not saying it wasn't here, but perhaps it was given away on another site instead?

I still don't see why people should expect this site to offer tailor made warnings in addition to giving away software.

So what if you have to go to the vendor's site yourself to learn more about the software being offered? You should be obtaining as much useful information about any of the software before installing it on your computer anyway. Basically you come across as though you're whining about the inconvenience of having to do a little research yourself to determine whether a prior offer is better than a current offer.

There is certain information that should be provided regarding system requirements. But I don't see why GOTD should be responsible for providing links to comparison charts. The link to the vendor's site is provided and if anyone wants to find out what other software they have available then use the link to see for yourself.

Those who got the Platinum version on this site for free were lucky because the version I downloaded in the last giveaway was the Professional version. If you look at the page for that giveaway, you will see the listed price was for the Professional version so it is entirely possible that GOTD was unaware that some people had the Platinum version. In that instance, they would not have known to warn any of you that feel it was their duty to do so. The bottom line is that you should always check out the software for yourself--especially when you don't think enough information has been provided.

correction on my last post 'there really aren't many options' was meant that there weren't a lot of slideshow software that works well with windows 8 64bit like this offering does

I really wish I was able to test this product but its very unstable on Windows 8 and makes me question if anyone got this to work in the first place. One time I launched the program and it froze my laptop. I had to hold down the power button on my laptop and get the computer to reboot.

The second time I launched this program I was able to input the serial key and it started the program but very slowly. Additionally there was a point in the program where I was able to get the actual interface up but it froze the movement of my touch pad although its strange I was still able to click by tapping on the mousepad but not be able to move the pointer around.

This seems like a very promising program for creativity purposes but it seems too unstable and too long to launch to be able to give a proper opinion of the program.

This is a great program. One of the better ones and I thank Anysoft and GOTD for giving it to me. I have tested it, I like it and I will be using it often.

the fact there have been NO 'freebie' posts by Giovanni says something for this offering ....i downloaded it and with windows 8 there really aren't many options ...this looks like a winner to me...thanks GOTD

I agree with you Shane. I have been coming here for quite a long time and there should be some heads up to that issue, and version numbers should be listed. Thanks for your comment. I saw nothing negative, whiny or immature about it; you made a statement, asked a question and then made a request. Very appropriate.

Really disappointed. I can't get the program to run. I found a copy of OCX 10 and put that in my windows system folder, but it still says I need this file and then shuts down. I really wanted a program like this but since I can't use it. I will just uninstall it. Thanks anyway GOTD.

Never thought I'd have a use for this type of software, but as I play with it I can see LOTS of uses for it. Easy to use, I am really enjoying playing around with it.

I just downloaded this programme without any trouble ( it took 2 minutes to download). I immediately tried it, followed the 4 steps outlined in the instructions, and presto! I was able to make a slide show with background music, in less than 5 minutes.

The programme, is very easy to operate, even for those like me, which are not computer savvy.

I too was able to acquire a fuller version earlier but I am glad that OTHERS now have an opportunity to get this, even if it is a lesser version (Not Inferior just not as many bells and whistles).

I think I need to clarify something here. I did not pay for the platinum edition, I got it here at GAOTD and I was very happy to get it. However this time they were offering professional, I went to the publishers site which is fortunate because profession sounds better than platinum, after doing a bit of research I found that platinum was indeed the better version and to me less options does me inferior- I like options. I am very happy that I did not download this version by mistake and I will be careful in the future to pay attention. The comment was meant to give others a heads up and to simply as that if GAOTD knows they have already offered the better version of a software they simple make a statement to that effect. I do not see anything wrong with me asking. I am happy and greatful of the version I have which is platinum.

In response to comment No .5 I am grateful for the free products. In this case however the offer did not state that the previous offering of the platinum edition was actually better than the current offer, so if I had downloaded this version thinking it was better I likely would have lost the version I had which is better. Providing this kind of information might not seem important to you but I think that many people would agree with me on this providing this type of information is very important to the people who will be using the software. Also when I asked that we be alerted to this information I did say please.

I rarely comment on anything in any forum, but #5 is right. Far too many of the comments on GOTD are about the offerings/selection of freebies. We're supposed to be critiquing the software. We get it free and test it for the developer and/or the software company. That said, I tried Photo Slideshow Maker Professional briefly, then perused their web site. It installed and registered fine. Works fine, too. My sister takes 100's of photos every chance she gets. I will be texting her about today's GOTD. Thank-You GOTD for your work and for your website of goodies.

I installed Flash player 11.7 but the program is telling me it's on on my computer. What's up?

I downloaded this software the last time it was offered and ended up buying the platinum version.

This is actually a more current version than the previous offer so I am perplexed by #4's comment about it being inferior. It is a good product for people who like slideshow software. Sure, the platinum version offers more options but that does not mean this is an inferior product.

It's extremely selfish to put down this offer on the basis that one has a better edition that isn't being offered for free.

What sort of alert should this site offer? If you read the software title you can see it is the Professional edition which should let you know not to bother downloading it, if you already have the Platinum edition. There's no way to get an alert to prevent you from coming to the site altogether by having it determine that you already have Platinum installed on your PC.

My only issue with the software is that even after you register, "Register" remains under the Help menu, as well as a link to buy the Platinum edition (which might be fine for this Professional version but makes no sense for those of us who already own the Platinum edition). I say might be fine because if a customer is satisfied with the version he/she has then he/she might find that link annoying.

About Mr Potter's comment, one should bare in mind that not all of us have the earlier freebie Platinum edition and in that case I think along Mr Street's position on the subject!

I'm always amazed at the negative remarks. So what if you got a better freebie last time? Enjoy it and be grateful. Nobody needs to troll the internet for free software.They can buy it and take their chances; or try out a free offer and upgrade if they choose. Who owes you ANY free software?

The program downloaded and installed without problems on Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.
The description does not do this program justice as the templates that Anvsoft gives with this program both 2D and 3D is way impressive.
By the statement above you can tell that I rate this program with a double thumbs up.

Lots of freebies out there, but I highly recommend this program if you don't have a current slide show maker.

I agree with Derek in as Shane could have phrased his comments in a different way. But I also would suggest that the version be posted so we would know ahead of time if we were actually down grading or not. It would be very helpful. I have wondered about that before on other Giveaway of the Day products. Which I am VERY thankful for. I do love Giveaway of the Day. Again Thank You.

This is really bizarre. I installed this & when it was installing it claims that I need flashplayer OCX control 9.0 or higher. I just updated adobe flash this morning to 11.1 so not sure why I don't have the right file for this. When I went to adobe.com to find what I was looking for. It not only does not direct me to individual files but it also crashed my Internet Explorer. Any help out there would be appreciated. I've been looking for something like this for quite some time.

To Shane Potter: Just shut up and go on about your business. Comment on the software without all the "inferior" crying. We don't want to hear it. If you don't want the offering, don't download. Go back to bed.

I realize that this is a "wish list" item and not likely to happen, but do you know what would be nice and helpful? It would be most appreciated if BitsDuJour made EVERY software vendor here provide a link to a features comparison page, between what is being offered, and all of their other versions.

This would totally eliminate the daily worn-out question that @1 Rocket asked, and the whining that @4 Shane gave us.

This software may do a nice job but don't forget that it's up to you to make the finished product interesting. I'm old enough to remember the days when neighbors would pull out the slide projector and bore you with an hour-long presentation of their latest vacation. If not for the free booze I would have stayed home. Good luck and be creative!

I do want to know when an offer is inferior to a previous offer. In the Platinum edition you can add FLV videos; creating video slideshow and you get a Rich & well-designed Video Gallery themes.

@ shane potter: some of us do not have previous versions offered here and yes I would admit a “better version as offered before” would have been preferable, but as Derek says, it’s a freebie… thank you gotd and anvsoft inc.

Directed to comment No. 5..are you losing sight that the mind is free. I think a freebie is no reason at all to be fascinated. Depends on what one is obliged to be and to have.
By the way, i would prefer platinum, if this was an offer before, than it is a pitty that the company can or want to effort the BEST for testing.

Being made Free for the day, has nothing to do with it.
I mean, imagine you going out and making a purchase upon something you take value in, thinking it's newer, i liked the one ive had for X amount of time and now i would like to upgrade...

Good program. Thanks to the publisher and GAOTD for making this available. Users should stop bitching about getting free stuff.If people are going to be hyper-critical why not put your money where your mouth is and "shop" someplace else?

To Shane Potter: I believe that the offer that the offer clearly stated it was the Professional edition. This would have already answered your question without the negative comment. I agree posting the exact version would be nice but there was no need for your criticism. Most people glad to get a free program that they can use. All you had to do was walk away!
