Tried it. It looks nice, but... If I close it the icons dissapear off the desktop. I personally don't like the problem and my wallpaper preference are slightly different. It's cool though.

Well, it's pretty & it's working fine....since the regular price is only $8, I guess this is fine..but would love the Wallpaper Maker so that I could have different images & effects, etc. --Dax

Works just fine on this old XP-SP3 Thinkpad R52 - icons are clear, no slowdown, no error messages about 3-D rasterizers...

I want wallpapers to be 'modifiable' - with my own backgrounds, my own animated objects etc. To keep watching the same scenery is boring after a few seconds.

I don't use screen savers. But this is a GOTD and I love this site and strongly desire to support it. I downloaded this program and installed it. Had to run first time from the "Start Menu". Didn't run correctly at all, so I just reinstalled it again right over the first one without any removal of the first install(Win7-64). The second time worked fine. The stretch to fit from what must be a lower resolution does make the icons lower res and causes what looks like "fuzz" on them. I can still tell what my icons are and enjoy the calming affect of the screensaver. I would like to see more birds and a more complicated path for their flight as birds don't fly in basic circles. But all in all, an enjoyable change for my desk top. BTW, the task bar continues to be animated water while working in programs. Might be a problem for some, but I think I like that too. Higher res original picture and icons would be an improvement. But two thumbs up from me.

It's nice but it makes me feel like I'm sitting in the middle of a lake.

@2 Hey Bill, just an FYI: animated wallpapers are not causing your problem. You have one or more of the following: 1) an older, slower processor, 2) a poor-performing graphics card, 3) not enough RAM. Bill, you need a computer upgrade.

I thought I would actually try this out before passing judgement on it.
On a Windows 8 64-bit with 17.3" widescreen display it. Installed quickly, painless operation....seems to smack of something made with wallpaper maker or some such.
The icons were indeed blurry as a previous poster commented. Stretched the image was fine, but the screen display altered so that icons were half on/half off the one side of the screen when an app was snapped to the other side of the display.
Uninstalled just as quickly as I could make it install.
Works probably quite well on earlier OS versions, but definitely does not appear to be one to be used on Windows 8.

I love natural mountain scenery. So, as my first foray into animated wallpaper use since the '90s I decided to try Paradise Mountain Animated Wallpaper. Sadly, I found it neither attractive nor relaxing.

I have a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 i.e. nothing unusual. The default 'stretched' option gave the wallpaper the appearance of being distorted and low resolution. When I deselected this option, the wallpaper filled only the right half of my screen. I was also underwhelmed by the crudely drawn flying birds and the streaky rays of sunlight that cover the entire image.

So, back to using a high quality photograph of mountain scenery on my desktop instead.

On the upside, installation and uninstallation on XP SP3 was smooth and quick. Revo Uninstaller's advanced setting found nothing left by the developer. Thank you GOTD and AnimatedWallpaper but this product is not for me.

Win 8 pro - downloaded and run no problem.
Started the program by clicking application - it knew I had three screens although two were switched off. I could not find a way of getting the program in the centre of one ,main, screen .I could get a small picture which was centred if you count total pixels width or one stretched over three screens .
It managed three screens all with diff resolutions - no problem stretching over all three.
My three screen setup may be bigger than the target customer but I thought the graphic could be a bit sharper.
Now CRT have all but disappeared I am not sure who uses these type of programs - but not for me.
I only downloaded because of the poor score - however if you need this type of program it is not bad for the price and for free - go get it.

"Paradise Mountain" installed quickly and without a hitch on my system and causes no perceptible slowdown in performance. Based primarily on photographic art, this animated wallpaper provides exactly what it promises, a relaxing and attractive animated background on the screen. The program's controls permit the user to start the wallpaper on Windows startup but by default this software waits for the user to manually start it, a very polite behavior for such programs.

Not everyone will want animated wallpaper -- it's almost certain all of the downvotes on GOTD really just mean "No, thank you" -- but if you're interested in an aesthetically pleasing background on your screen, this is a good choice.

Thanks, AW7, and thanks GOTD!

Has made the desktop icon names go all fuzzy and almost unreadable. Deleted immediately

Don't really want any clutter on my pc, but it is probably better watching this than the tripe on tv

I myself, usually don't download so-called "animated" wallpapers, and this is the case now, because they make my computer always freeze up! So, no thanks!

I decided to give this a try to see if the publisher had changed it's way to make these animated wallpaper auto start with Windows. I am happy to say that they have. This sits in your start menu waiting for you to click on it. After start up, it places an icon in your task bar. From there you can change the options or exit out of the program. So how does the image look? It's actually a fairly decent wallpaper image. You get some ripple type movement in the water in the foreground with some birds in the background. I would not want it to run full time but it's definitely worth the download to me for the change of pace it provides. Thank you GOTD team and AnimatedWallpaper7.com.
