FYI:
i just had a problem that program guard was keeping trusted programs from using the temp folder to install. turned off they install o.k.

someone in forum says that the oa++ 4.0.0.15 that was downloaded on 1/29/2010 is not only obsolete but beta.

this concerns me as these are supposed to be "current" programs.

To the previous commenter - It is hard to say with any certainty if one program is better than the other. Your best bet is to try the free trials of several antivirus companies and see which one works the best for you, your system and your needs.

I uninstalled Kaspersky Internet Security to give Online Armor a trial. I'd been looking around for another program with Kaspersky's quality and reliability but without its awkward GUI and heavy handed alerts, which make configuration difficult and every attempt to install and use new software a royal pain. I was pleasantly surprised to find a promising candidate here on GOTD, and I've been running it for several days now.

So far, I've found Online Armor to be very satisfactory. I find it easier to configure and use than KIS. During its setup, I liked the way it allowed me to quickly (yet selectively) tell it to trust the programs I had already installed. I also like its learning mode. When I use programs for the first time, it asks questions, and doesn't keep on asking them repeatedly. Its real time alerts do their job calmly without making me feel visually assaulted. It's also proved to be effective as an anti-virus program. I keep my machine pretty clean on the whole, but it found a few nasties on its first full scan. There is also well-written documentation on the Tall Emu website.

It's not perfect though. I'd prefer more options at my disposal when it finds infected files - there's no option to disinfect or quarantine, just to accept or delete, which seems strange. However for all round usability - which improves my security by encouraging me to run more frequent scans and accept more recommendations - it beats KIS hands down.

There are numerous features which I haven't used yet, so I can only claim a passing acquaintance with this software. But I'm pleased with it so far, and I will be keeping it. I'd like to thank Tall Emu and GOTD for this great giveaway, which has saved me a respectable chunk of cash as well as a great deal of time and effort.

I tried it out for the two days before it drove me nuts. It's worse than Vista's UAC imho.
It also crashed my computer everytime I played an online Steam game.
Regardless of what I did to OK it.

Post 183 (debunks) and all these other people who feel such a sense of entitlement that TallEmu OWES you something, are out to lunch.
No, it's not enough that they give you this offer for free, you want a key emailed individually to you. Dream on!
If you want the program so bad, go and buy it or try a free trial. There was never anything said that guaranteed everyone a free copy. They made an offer with conditions, some people couldn't qualify for the conditions, so move along and quit your complaining, you're disgusting.
The same goes for those 64 bit whiners. You chose your OS, now live with the restrictions it has.

For those of you who did not install it yesterday, it is available for download at this site: http://www.tallemu.com/downloads.php

Just be sure to choose the ++ version - 2nd one down.

For those of you who never got the email containing the registration code, there was a problem with certain email servers, such as Yahoo, and your email probably was blocked as spam. You are easily able to retrieve your registration code from the Online Armor site by logging in using the same user name (email address) and password, that you selected when you registered for the product. That site is located at the same site as above. Just click the link on the right that says "Log In". Sign in and you will see a link to view your licenses. Click on that and you should see the license number. You can just select the entire number, and choose copy and paste it into the registration box when prompted.

The installation went fine. No problems. Was easily able to download the entire 82 gig program today without delays.

Thank you so much Online Armor (Tall Emu) and also GOATD. I needed this offer and you provided it at exactly the right time!

I downloaded this yesterday and extracted the folder but never installed the program. I went to the site and they claimed you didn't have to install it today (this was last night). Came back today and it said the offer had expired. Sounded like a good piece of software to try out.

I successfully downloaded the setup file in practically no time via att.net broadband.
I started the setup install & had to stop until I received the registration code. While the email with the code shows it being sent in the afternoon after 3pm I did not see the email until a few minutes ago on Saturday morning.
Since I had the setup paused waiting for the code all I had to do is copy & paste the code on the proper line & the setup process completed. As I type this the safety check is running having completed the update & search for dangereous processes without an problem.
The next 3 checks completed & systems check is being processed. I can post the results after the safety check is completed.

Both my nephew and I have been trying independently for well over 24 hours and everytime we enter the promo code (GOTD-813-EMU) in the appropriate box and hit the 'Apply' button, the screen refreshes but there doesn't seem to be any discount applying and independently, we still see the total appearing as $59.95. Wonder what is happening! Can someone please help? My mail ID is on the forum post. Also, interestingly, one line on the GOTD main page has a sentence that reads, "This giveaway is not available any more," - which is normal, while a little below that, there are the words, "Online Armor ++ is usually 59.95 USD and for the next 24 hours you can get it Free here," and the word 'here' is actually a link which leads to the website, "http://www.tallemu.com/gaotd-813-te.php," which still shows that the offer is on (valid at the time I am posting this message) but the promo code seems to be defunct. Considering the number of issues, GOTD and the developer should considering a re-run of the giveaway offer.
