#38 alhall,

If you need pdf to jpeg feature, you can use PDFZilla.

But not if you use Norton. It quarantined my copy as containing a trojan. I couldn't even access the file long enough to send it in for FP analysis or to one of those multi-AV comparison sites - as soon as I accessed any copy I had - eg the original installer - bang, off into quarantine. (And since it was on an externally managed machine, I didn't have the option of turning the AV off)

xpdf which I mentioned above (#41) includes a command-line image extractor. You may need some other tools like CONVERT or the pnm utilities to reprocess the images though.

There are so many PDF virtual printers, I don't think that novaPDF Standard compares very well. Of some of the free alternatives mentioned here, I've used Bullzip. Although novaPDF has a few features which Bullzip doesn't, Bullzip has numerous features which novaPDF doesn't, supports non-PDF formats such as image formats, and setting the filename is much easier. novaPDF Standard isn't bad, but it's normally a commercial product, and clearly better free products are available.

#1, Ashraf, PDF watermarks are supposed to appear as the background layer. Bullzip calls something placed as the foreground layer a "stamp". Bullzip allows another PDF file (which may contain images) to be used as the background (watermark) or foreground (stamp).
