This 'registry paranoia' that people are starting on around here really is laughable if it weren't so harmful to the users who just do not understand things like 'registry' and so will be scared off by stupid and irresponsible comments claiming that a couple of left over registry entries are dangerous and good reason enough to 'steer clear of installing stuff from here' etc etc.
The facts are less worrying:- the registry entries left by GOTD installers, if there are any, actually do NOTHING ACTIVE at all! and so are akin to having as one line text file sitting on your PC (harmful??).
Yes there are those paranoid people out there who will always claim to clean up your registry and how it really can be detrimental to PC performance but google it if you like, there are more who say that is all just paranoia and more damage is done by the uneducated in these matters, by trying to clean the registry and rendering their windows unusable! (Very common).
So a couple of registry entries are absolutely nothing to worry about.
I DO know what I am talking about and I am only trying to offer advice and balance to those stupid comments I read. Please do not be put off the software here, or anywhere else because you are worried about registry entries...it is just paranoia and is stupid!

Updating my comment #50, it appears that the conflict on my system was with novaPDF, not Go2PDF (although I still won't use Go2PDF, since it doesn't have an uninstaller). This was a critical conflict, causing Windows Explorer to hang and crash, and the novaPDF uninstaller to hang. Since doing a System Restore to just prior to the novaPDF installation, I haven't had any recurrences of the Explorer problems.

#58, check the websites/documentation for the various PDF products mentioned in these comments. I know that Go2PDF supports font embedding, but I can't recommend it. Nuance ScanSoft PDF products support font embedding, but they're not free (except when bundled with their other products).

As for many of you who downgrade products because they have a price tag on them, Keep in mind that many Freeware programs come adware supported, how do you think they can put it out for free?

I have personally stayed away from many freeware programs because of the amount of adware that stuffs up my system, If this is a program that fits your needs, Whats 19.95 to own a copy of it. As for GAOTD putting this program up for trial,,,, Awsome stuff, Thanks GAOTD

I prefer PrimoPDF personally but this is still a worthwhile addition to your software libary for free. It works well and it seemed to be very quick especially when doing the book size layout.

Web pages were a pain to render as BladedThoth pointed out but Pdf 995 also did the same glitches with CCS scripts.
This one works superbly with MS documents. I have PRimoPDF and PDF 995 and now this and if need be I can pick the best of 3 for a task.

As for paying $19.95, forget it. at $9.95 I would buy it.

Hello Hedy:

You can find what you are looking for at http://www.foxitsoftware.com/products/ .

There are products for Windows, Windows Mobile, and Linux including a free pdf reader that can be upgraded to annotate the text (among other tasks). Sometimes my version of Adobe Reader doesn't open a file but Foxit does.

Foxit focuses on pdf add-ins and tools. There are evaluation versions available. The page http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php has information about the Pro pack which has a converter tool. Other items of interest for you are the Editor and the Creator tools.

As I recall, when I tried it, the annotation evaluation tool had the erase function disabled so be careful. The Foxit Reader's file is also much smaller that Abobe's.

For Office 2007 you can get a free plug-in from the Microsoft website that allows you to save all office files as PDF's.

I used PDF995 for many years and liked it a lot. I find this program very light weight. I couldn't figure out how to combine multiple PDF files which is a nice feature that PDF995 lets you do. Also I want to number the pages. CutePDF is on all my work computer and it works a lot like this program. I wouldn't pay for this program when there are so many free programs out there that give the same performance.

I believe someone asked about converting only one page of a multi-page document to PDF. If you are not sure how many pages your document will be when "printed" to PDF format, you can first select Print Preview from the File menu of whatever program you are in. Look at the preview and select the page or pages you want to print. Then, select File > Print in the same program. Select novaPDF as your printer. Most print dialog boxes have a selection where you can specify only certain pages to be printed. Only the pages you select will be converted to PDF when you click the Print button.
