Notables is very useful in doing just what it says it will do.
I have it on machines with different operating systems. One is a 384 meg maxed memory Pentium III with Windows 2000 Professional NT 650? megahertz (2000) and the other is a 2.20 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 with 512 Megs memory (2003).

Works fine on both so far.

Tip:
After setting up several notes on one machine I used the options backup menu to make a note.nbk file that I put on the other machine and imported the backup. Instantly I had the same group with all the notes that I had put on the first computer.
This group was one of websites so it was useful to have should one member of my family be using one computer the other computer was free with the same notes and links available. No need to wait for the note computer to be available.

Advice to Knee jerk complainers or perhaps ones who just panic:

New programs can be very confusing to newbies just as about anything can be to someone who has never walked but expects to run just after being a newborn computer user. Don't complain about a poor road map to the the bathroom if you haven't been potty trained yet! Be patient! We all had to be trained at sometime. None of us were born knowing either computers or potty so no more potty mouthing please! Better to admit " I have no idea and I need more time and more help" than to say "This is useless" or "It is junk because I can't get it to work."

(Note to Giveaway of the Day - Perhaps you could Prominently ask that users with problems other than registering should wait a few hours before declaring negative comments as they may have overlooked much to their surprise the simple solution to their problem. If increased user-ship and spread the good word is your objective then this will be beneficial to all. Too many (especially early) the sky is falling comments increases the likelihood that newcomers will avoid the program. What a shame!

Note to 31: I am not stomping on you please understand but I am a moderator on a forum of free security software, the Admins would not have it any other way than to keep negative comments, it is what builds the software. A fact of life is this, if there were no negatives, there would be no striving to better it, plain and simple. I don't agree with simply saying "it sucks" and leaving it at that, as someone commented above and "helpful feedback" whether it be negative or not is still helpful BUT quick comments like "it sucks" say nothing to better a software at all and are simply useless but as a software programmer, i'm sure they are well aware to ignore such fodder. All in all many may not like to hear this but as i've learned, both neg and pos comments are valuable but the negative comments are more valuable than the positives from an improvement standpoint.

I thought it was an over-all nice program. At first I was a bit taken back by all the internet attempts and it changed frequently to do so. I am into pc repair and network security so I am more on the paranoid side I suppose but to be fair, found nothing credible to accuse it. I still have it and truly like it so I will be keeping my phone numbers, etc...nice and neat but I am still keeping all the internet attempts. I understand updating, NP, but it tries for access more than my virus scanner. If I find it's truly nothing, I will post back here. Until then , it's a great little program, fun to use and organize, and simple to use at the same time.

#59 (Gavin/GN): And why not, pray tell?
As for synchronisation -- one of two:
- One big flat file for each type of item (if at all possible; I'm not sure there's an alternative to vcards, for example) to be able to import these into other programs/devices/computers.
- A way to mass-export every item into individual files (Ick!) to be able to import these into other programs/devices/computers.
Destination? Perhaps the same program, perhaps not.

I haven't used this program fully yet but I have it playing music while I surf and it works great. If it's that easy to use in all aspects - I would say this is a winner. Thank you very much.

Not bad. Clean interface. A little too pretty. Still prefer firefox with scrapbook extension. It does the same things but everything is a mouse click instead of cut and paste.
