it'd be great if it wouldn't be visible even these 2 px in hide mode
because when you watch movies, there is this bright stripe on left and/or right

Well I got about 150 icons off the desktop into groups and all great.

HOWEVER next day, NLauncher froze with a group expanded and could not get it off the screen. As I was (and still am) in the middle of other work I couldn't do a restart so I blew NLauncher away with TaskManager and when I restated it ALL my work is lost and I am back with the original launch bar with the silly noise.

Is there no registry that remembers my setup??? Maybe it will come back when I restart????

PITA because if I have to start again I have no icons on the desktop to drag/remember to add to NLauncher which would make it twice the task to redo!!. I should have been warned by post #28 !! Drat!

This is a cool program. I like the menu like structure. There is a HUGE downfall however. There is no text on these icons, so unless you wait for the tool top to pop up you have no idea what each link will open. The only real way to fix this now is to create a custom icon for every icon... very annoying.

The name of the icon should show a text title above the icon or across the icons picture, top would be best.

Got to give it pops for the custimization features. There is many settings and buttons for those of us that like modifying stuff and making it our own.

Overall good stuff... got my Icons in order now. Thanks!!

While this is a pretty fast and might be convenient for some users I'm more than happy with True Launch Bar. For me this can't compete with that as that is one heck of an application, and all this does is well..nothing..

It could be useful though when I wanted to pin a few items, I might keep it installed for a while before making final thoughts on where I need it or not.

Seems pretty cool. I like the fact that it's skinnable. Had to disable the right toolbar because it kept popping up every time I went for the scrollbar, that got old really fast.

I've been using RK Launcher for a while now and I've found it to be hands down the best over any other launcher I've tried. I even wrote a skin pack for it. Best of all, it's 100% FREE!

Tried Folder Guide and it's kinda nice, but it's a big drawback that it only works against the desktop (and not when, for example, right-clicking against the webbrowser.)

As for NLauncher, I like it. But I had to deactivate the right side since I kept activating it accidently when trying to access the scroll bar. Works nicely on the left side though.

Not what I would use when you can with one more mouse click from the desktop
get to any of the programs or folders that NLauncher can get to.???
Tons of free launchers out there! (Useless Programs)

you can fill the desktop to the Max with this other free app at this
site... http://www.sillysot.com/
The only time you will see your icons are when you need them!
Iconoid is what I use and has lots of features for privacy as well.

#52, If you like folder Guide, (I do too) then give this a try as well:

Cool program.

RoboTask can do 1-keystroke launches too (although Nlauncher probably does more).

Not bad, but for a truly intuitive desktop organizer-launcher try the free FSL(FreeSoftLand)launcher at: http://fsl.sytes.net/. Its very similar to the shareware program LaunchIt NOW! Plus. For me its been a keeper.

There has never been a more efficient, inclusive, customizable and graphically-pleasing freeware program launcher than "LaunchMate". Nor as unknown, obviously. The author gave up development years ago, but it's still available via a Web Search. Your welcome :-)

Good application, but not what I'm looking for. I'm a HUGE proponent of "portable" applications, and lately, I have grown to dislike applications that aren't installable and runnable from a USB Thumb Drive. NLauncher is no exception.

While this is a fine application, for me, something like PStart is more productive.

Well, I'm sorry about it, but this time the app of the day is worst than I thought it would be: It's fast, and the software does what it says it does; but there are some things in it that I don't like. One of them is the appearance of the bar, focusing on the appearance of the icons. They are very... pixelated? And that is one thing that the programmers should improve in order to make people like their program.

From the alternatives said on #5 and #19 the most interesting (at least for me) is Launchy, but I would like to give people one more to think about. It's name is RocketDock, and it is freeware as well.

That's the one I use now and combined with ÜberIcon (also freeware) makes a good and clean desktop. Here are thir links: www.punksoftware.com/rocketdock and www.punksoftware.com/ubericon hope you enjoy them and thank you GotD Team for the software once more.

The program isn't easy to organize all your icons, but when you've done it, it works good. And I'm glad you can turn off that irritating sound. So in a scale from 0-10 I give the program 7 points.

Slick little program, but not worth the time to set it up. Quick launch works just fine for me. I suppose if icons on your desktop really bothers you, and you don't want to use quick start, it might be worth while. Glad I didn't pay $20.00 for it!
