Functionally, it's identical to Cool Edit 2000, which hasn't been available since Adobe took over Syntrillium in 2003, and is good basic software. Having used all the versions of Cool Edit from 96 onwards, I find Audacity fiddly, so it's good to see this interface back on the market again. I'll run it alongside my existing Cool Edit installation and see how it goes. Installed OK on XP SP3. You have to enter the codes that come up to activate it manually. I don't remember downloading this before, but I couldn't figure out why I didn't have the options to record. I checked the file location and the readme was not what I downloaded this morning. I registered the product just fine (I thought)earlier today. But when I opened MP3 editor, it said it was a trial. Coincidentally, I did a registry clean-up today, so who knows. But, I just discovered GAOTD maybe 6 weeks ago and I didn't know what I was doing for a while so I missed a lot of stuff I wanted, then I've been downloading trials after the fact.
