dunno if the converter is worth it- so many to choose from, and splitting with the doiteasier.org app appears quite adequate. and they give out the same reg code to all, nice.

making title snapshots, now that could be handy to pair with the converter box

Now it's really not appropriate to bash the country of origin, but I will say something about China.

Most all Chinese products produced are of inferior quality as they have no quality control over there. How many times on the news lately have you seen recalls of inferior or potentially dangerous Chinese products

I know this for a fact as I once owned a wholesale/retail craft parts store which included a line gifts as well. the quality of these products from China were definitely of inferior quality

Funny, on their website under News, it states the following:

May 27, 2008
MovieShop Suite(Browser + Framer), Cross-Platform Open source Video Manager has been released.

Mar 25, 2008
MovieShop Framer, Cross-Platform Open source Video Processor has been released.

Feb 18, 2008
MovieShop Browser, Cross-Platform Open source Video Browser has been released.

Last time I checked open source software was free.

It also adds a context menu entry "Open with MovieShop". Try right-clicking on your desktop icons such as Computer, Network, your user folder, and even Control Panel

This really wants me to put back my version of Visual Basic and write a crappy piece of software, then join the regnow affiliate program and I might become rich.

But I'm not that type of person who rips people off with clones of other manufacturer's programs.

In conclusion, comparing this program to ACDSee is like comparing a $643,330 2003 Ferrari Enzo Coupe to a Ford Pinto

Actually there are exit buttons on this thing, you just have to try to find the edges and then shrink the program down and there they are .
The problem is that it shows up beyond fullscreen so everyone is thinking theres no X to close but its there. The downside is that even after you resize to what you want and close when you open it again you gotta find the edges again. Hint: work around the top right corner to find the edge.

actually it is not that great as people mentioned, lame unpleasing interface, I would think it would be able to browse network drives (unless you map them), Book marks to save you locations , crashes.

Downloaded and installed with no problems, used the browser to view the movie image and yes if the first frame is blank you see a black screen. Also I did a conversion clip that I tested but it will stop dead in its tracks if you want to exit before a conversion is done. Only way to exit is control-alt-delete to end program. Buggy - yes- I don't like a program that was not fully developed.

Sorry, I tried. Wasted my time trying. I thought the program can make thumbnails of my video files so that I can see which video file to open from my Windows Explorer. But just does not know how it does it or whether it does it at all.

Sorry, will un-install it. I can use Format Factory if I have to convert files.

further to my comments #30, I found out how to open files in the 'Framer' module, you need to use the 'EJECT' icon!!! Once you one a file, clicking the ADD button just seems to replicate the original OPEN file! It still didn't Crash under WIn7 Beta!!! The other was to Open files is to use the main Suite launcher and select the Framer icon! There is a quite noce FAC file manager but for some reason it only seems to launch from certain functions, otherwise all you get is a primative drive letter list, no partition labels! Which is a pain as I have several OSes on my PC and the partitions get different enumeration dependant on the particular OS.
With a little work this could be a very useful product, for those of us that like to 'tinker' with video clips!

I was soooo excited with the ACDSee comparison, I thought GOAD had finally gave us a quality program, but..........

Comparing this piece of software to ACDSee is absolutely ridiculous. Who put up that statement anyway? I sure hope they had permission to do so.

I first opened up Movie Browser and was totally disgusted with the interface, especially the font. Where is the options menu....Non-existant.

I then brought up MovieShop Framer, where the interface looked much better. Then I made the mistake of clicking on a button (I believe it was the Camera button) and it brought up a dialog box that has a link to their homepage, with 4 blank boxes below it. Visit the homepage and try clicking on the Technical Support link on the Contact Us page

http://www.fame-ring.com/forum

404 Error, am I surprised...No

Also has a button titled giveawayoftheday version. Clicking on that does nothing.

Under that is a button titled Load Sub Font File. Clicking on that brings you to a single location with the arial.ttf font displayed and a ? in the preview box. There are several tiny lines above the directory that are actually links to other locations. Since I install all my 3rd party apps to my E: drive, I couldn't even access the Windows\fonts folder.

Then I clicked on Show Display Adapter. Now I'm totally stuck with this dialog box (with absolutely no way to close it.) I can't even work with the program. When I try to click any button. It just fails to function. I had to do an Alt-Ctr-Del and end task to get out of the program

This program is a great example of poor development at its finest.

Stay away from this program as you would stay away from someone who has the plague

100 thumbs down, I hope the counter reflects this
