I downloaded this halfheartedly, thinking if nothing else I'd use it to print out blank staff paper. I never suspected I'd find it so addicting! Great product for songwriters! :D

Still working great for me.
The only thing that makes me grin is that you can save the compostion as a PDF, JPEG, or anything like that. I just want to be able to email it to others so they can open it up easily and print it without having to download and install a program to view the files.

I play music, but have never been able to read it. This sems an excellent program, if a little difficult to get used to. Some of this may be my lack of understanding of music notation but I always seem to be getting notes jumping in to the next bar. I have tried Finale Notebook as well and I don't have this problem there. Finale Notebook however is much more limited than this offering and I shall keep on going umtil I have sussed it!

For those still looking for an activation key: There was none. This giveaway was activated without a serial. If it's says: "Licensed to Giveawayoftheday" in the Help - About, then it's OK.

We don't get to see or handle the serial number because if we did then we could re-install it at any time on any machine in the future.

The Activate.exe simply obtains a key from the GAOTD server and decrypts the embeded activation data in the Activate.exe and applies the registration hash or other form data to the registry. The program see's that data and knows the hash method to check it to confirm the registration.

Other giveaways where a key and reg name are given out, the entire giveaways installer is encrypted in the SETUP.EXE so will only decrypt and install on the day of the giveaway if the built in activate module can retrieve the key from the GAOTD servers.

This giveaway's problem is that it's GUI to register and buy are not conditional, they remain after the product is bought and registered, and the only visual indication of the state is the one line in the Help | About menu screen.

I personaly have installed this on both Windowss 98 and Windows XP Pro on this laptop and under windows 98 it fails with a page fault:
"MAGICSCORE5 caused an invalid page fault in
module at 0000:0125a56a.
Registers:
EAX=ffff0000 CS=016f EIP=0125a56a EFLGS=00010287
EBX=00000000 SS=0177 ESP=4a004307 EBP=00aff998

EDX=0000007c ES=0177 EDI=00affc78 GS=0000
Bytes at CS:EIP:
00 00 78 25 36 01 b0 c6 35 01 b0 c7 35 01 00 00
Stack dump:"

Same hardware and sonf files under XP Pro SP2 work fine.

I may install it on another windows 98 machine I have here when I have some free time and see if that crashes too or not.
