I'm here again...I know that is illegal to bypass the protection and if you don't want to use software like this proposed by GOTD you can buy a BlueRay Combo Pack Disk, eve if you don't have a BlueRay Writer. The Combo Pack BRay Disc is composed by: 1 BlueRay Disc, 1 DVD Disc and a Digital Copy ISO that you can legally copy to your HD and put into your MediaPlayer Box... this is the best choice is you have troubles with this software proposed by GOTD. I hope this my comment solves moral problem to all people that don't want bypass dvd protections. But I have a big demand for you: why is illegal bypass dvd protecions while buying BlueRay Combo Pack the "Major" allows you to copy the Digital Copy DVD Iso to your Har Drive? Is illegal this way too or not? ;)

I decided a real test of this software would be to try to copy a DVD9 movie to 2 disk. It failed. I choose Saving Pvt Ryan. It was 7+GB. It did put movie on 2 DVDs. The second dvd is approximately the last 15 minutes of the movie. It plays without a problem. BUT the first disk hangs at about the 2:35 min mark of the movie in the middle of chapter 9 the next 4 chapters hang or skip or pixelate. This is true when playing on a home dvd player and using VCL on my computer. I have other software that handles this task without a problem, so I will very likely unistall the MAGIC DVD Copier...It never did give me that 'loving feeling' or the magic.

@Thomas Frieder: the DVD Disc is very delicate and nobody wants put in the garbage his original DVD Disc... the best choice today is backup the DVD Disc on an Hard Drive and the only way to do this is remove DVD protections in order to pass all DVD Discs to usb hard drive for example, used as a backup storage system. This way lets to you also to connect your hard drive usb to a MediaPlayer Box, so you can see your films into your TV (example: Sony Bravia 34 inch or 40 inch) in the living room with your family instead to buy a DVD Player or a BlueRay Player. In the fact a DVD Player needs to put only one DVD Disc at once while with a MediaPlayer Box you'll have all iso DVD films ready to play and you can choice to play one of the 140 DVD iso (for example) present in the usb hard disk. We live in 2012 and using, the old but today used, DVD Player is a bad choice (I talk for me) ;) Enjoy the 2012, join in the new tecnologies with MediaPlayer or other system "films on demand" ;)

And I know that for a fact as it lasted 5 years in my neighborhod until they finally broke my window and I got the Police and the Town Hall. Since then peace and quiet. I tried the gentle persuasion with parents but they don't always discipline their own childen and teenagers. So, that was it.

#1 My daughter used to spoil my DVD, you cannot always hide them from them, they use chairs, and I am not rich to be able to afford some cartoons at the price they sell them. Some are cheap, but most Disney cost a fortune, not just $3! Beside lots of DVD on their own get scratched even with the best care.

Works very well - copied Battleship onto my hard drive (full movie) in about 28 min. Win 7 64x. The only problem I had was during install, when it got to about 85% installed, the install process started going really SLOW - there were several seconds between EACH installed file name - were talking REALLY REALLY slow! I cancelled the install and then installed as administrator, and it just blazed through the install process.

Now I can copy movies I have BOUGHT and upload to my smart phone. Product does what it says, and it's still FREE. Thanks!

(o; It works simple and fast, yeah it could use a few more do this or do that but the price is right and I'm sure those useful things will be added down the road in latter versions, I know you have to buy it to get the updates or maybe wait till it comes around on GOTD again with a newer version! LOL For me I have good software that I can make modifications and produce DVDs of my own etc. but to just make a backup copy of my new (Paid for DVD Movies etc.) is great and if I want to make copies of my own home-made DVDs to friends and family I can do that legally all day! I in regards to that No pirate Co. or band of cut throats would not wast there time with this one at a time copier! they don't have time for that! if you know anything about the dark side! they use mass copiers that make any wear from 50 to 500 copies of one master at a TIME! But even I got caught up in a sham on E-Bay! where the people are advertising NEW, Legal, First run DVDs and at about 20% to 40% off the retail stores! they even stated they where an over stock out let! So I payed for and ordered two different movies I didn't have yet! yeah! I got 2 copied DVDs wrapped in plain paper!! I sent them Back to E-Bay and reported it to the FBI! They said that there was nothing they could do because the pirates are gone to a new cover within a day! E-bay refunded my money and apologised to me and cooperated with investigators but the same deal, they log into e-bay as a new user, sell a bunch of DVDs in a few houers and delet there account! Gone! till they log on as another new user! E-bay is trying to stop it and I think they have had some sucsess but it they make qulifying or verifying new users to sell on E-bay they scare off would be ohnest sellers so what to do! Pirets make it hard or more difficoult for ALL of us with higher prices on real products from Merchents trying to make up lost profits! Just don't buy! if it looks too good it problibly is! and make sure you can verify the seller! I know E-bay now does this and its not that bad to get your acount verifyed but it is an addittioal hutal to sell on E-bay! But I guess its has to be and worth it to prtect everyone trying to be ohnest!
The other thing, is in most states if not all now, (Haven't looked up the latist laws) Buy you CAN make Arcive copies of ALL DVD or CDs the YOU Perches and have the Original Copy! I have had my Kids! and my pets! (See what an Afrecan Gray can do to a DVD in 30 secounds or less!) and now grand Kids! and in a few years Great Grand Kids!!! and they distroy (Inocently mind you) CD kids games amd DVD Movies for kids and they are no better when they get older I.e. lending them to friends and you never see them again! So Make you Back up Copies to you harts consent! Just don't try to sell them!!! Dum Dum...

I'm sure that GAOTD intention is not to have people pirate materials, My dealing with this website has always been positive, and upbeat. You are as a consumer allowed to have one copy/backup of your Video-Audio materials. However I know that everyone who uses this site is honest and upright so need to worry.:)-

If the physical DVD disc product is not robust enough to withstand handling by children, then it needs to be improved.

I like such software. I use it to - (duh) copy DVDs once in a while.

Don't we like to avoid paying for a new movie DVD when we can copy a friend's DVD? Most of us do. For our own viewing. Not for resale.

If we rented a DVD movie and would like to keep seeing it even after returning the rented DVD, some of us make a copy. For our own viewing. Not for resale.

Not sure if this infrequent home copying can be called "piracy".

The practical difference in the matter is the SCALE of the operation.

In the real world, big time DVD pirates use industrial strength multi-duplicating machines with sophisticated software to reproduce DVDs on a massive scale and at rapid production rates. We are talking about 100,000 copies or more just for one popular DVD movie title.

About the user interface of this software.
Simple is good.
It does not complicate life and confuse the user with a screen full of strange parameters and unheard of choices. When all we want to do is quickly make a copy without unnecessary fuss.

I am appalled at anyone giving this software a thumbs-down. Why?

This software is used by people like me, who are grateful for the easy ability to preserve some of our favourite and interesting videos, and other old and oftentimes no-longer-obtainable-commercially videos.
What's wrong with that?

It's truly amazing that anyone could be so petty minded to think this genre of software could be abused and used profitably by "pirates", or anyone else for that matter.
Some others may use the software to fit their own needs, but you my dears, don't have the faintest regarding what it takes to produce a "pirated" saleable copy of a movie on DVD.

Imagine anyone as being a "pirate" and producing 2 unlabelled DVDs per hour, which is more than the maximum speed this software can muster.
Then, he'd have to print a reasonable label to affix to the "pirated" DVD, then they'd have to promote it, and then they'd have to pray really hard the "buyer" is not a cop.

First of all, pirated DVDs sell for a paltry sum, and secondly, not one (sane) individual will risk the consequences of such unlawful business when they can make much more money working legitimately, paying taxes, and building their Unemployment Insurance, and their Retirement and Pension Income.
Dont'cha get it? You can make more money delivering pizza part-time than copying DVDs using "Magic DVD Copier" or any such software!

Do you remember tha latest craze about 'The Shield'?
Do you think the "pirates" waited for, and relied on "Magic DVD Copier" to mass-produce the fakes?

The real pros, the true "pirates', have an assembly line of machines, each capable of silkscreen printing and reproducing several such DVDs per hour, plus a network of "distribuitors".

# 41 I guess you have never experienced a loss of a software or media purchase. HOW DO YOU STEAL FROM YOURSELF? If you buy something such as a DVD or Computer Program it is an investment you have made to enjoy it. You have paid for it. If you make a copy to preserve and protect your investment that is personal use. If you make copies to distribute for financial gain or not, that is the work of a pirate. The entire industry just does not get it. At one point you had to use a Key or Dongle with certain programs that used that as "THE" protection layer.. too hard to copy a Dongle.
If the mfg would provide a failsafe way of permitting the purchaser to to get a replacement copy or access to a cloud version... well that would be too easy. That is why programs like this exist in the first place.

Downloaded and installed on my pc. When I attemped to open it my computer crashed. So I restarted and uninstalled it.

I took my DVD of The Hunger Games and copied it to an iso, and it appears to play with VLC. I have no idea whether that DVD is protected in some special way or whether the entire disk will play, but at least some of it does. And it was pretty simple, although time consuming. So it's at least one thumb up.

Also for those that have the questions without really thinking on them. No I don't believe this can copy cd's as it states it is for dvd's! Plus this does not burn anything as far as videos straight off your computer. It does what it says. Strictly a copier. Magic has a ripper that I've used and works well. Take care all.

I bought this program in 2009 and have updated several times. To be honest, I have only used it a handful of times in the last 12 mobnths. However...
1) It WILL remove all regions restrictions
2) At my last check, it had no trouble removing any copyright protection so I have no doubts it will continue to do so.
3) It's fast and accurate. My average movie - with 30% reduction to fit a single layer dvd - takes less than 15 minutes to decode and 10 minutes to burn.
4) The final result is excellent. Don't sneer because of size reduction... the difference is barely noticeable, even on my 42".
5) Their customer service is exemplary. I have had two occasions to contact them. Both were answered next day and fixed the issues immediately.
I can only say go for it and find out for yourself.

And whatever #38 AntonYooo is on, try that too.

I live in Australia and in Europe. My DVDs are country coded, so they will only work in one or the other. To transport them from one country to the other all the time risks damage and loss, they are heavy and bulky and it is inconvenient. Should I buy two copies of each DVD? You have already seen that parents have an issue with DVDs and young children. And are you aware that copyright does not apply when copying is done for educational or research purposes?

How far do you go here? Should the same no-copy ruling apply to kitchen recipes? Think about the reasons behind the laws and don't just be led by your politicians - they don't always make the right decisions!

If you really feel the need to censure other people who are flouting the law, then feel free to join a law enforcement agency and go out and get the people who are really causing the problem. People other than yourselves have other needs and other priorities. Perhaps you should live your own life and let them live theirs?

There are many reasons for needing to make such copies and since DVD manufacturers use various technologies it is wise to have several different programs available to do this. For many people, the simpler the better. This program finds a niche for that reason alone.

Smooth installation.

The software is great! I don't have to be a DVD genius or know what size my overall project is.

I started the program, it asked for a DVD, then a blank. Neither forced me to choose which drive. It just saw my use and started.

Choices of [Full Movie} {Main feature only} {Custom} and {DVD9 to DVD5}

I took a full featured 7.75 Gig movie and then a blank 4.7 G and sliped them in, chose Main Feature. It asked if I wanted to look at the ID #s of the things on my source or just click one and PREVIEW.

I chose MAIN English - no Subtitles. Clicked Preview and it showed me the source main feature in a small side box WITH SOUND.

Cool, I didn't have to be a rocket surgeon to see what I'd get.

Clicked yes.

It took about half an hour as I have 2 DVD burners in my comp.

It sourced and burned at the same time.

IT ACCESSED ALL 4 SECTIONS of my QUAD CPU. No worries if it was going to not use my computers capabilities.

Now, I did use an animated feature. After the conversion and Reduction the usual degradation that one sees in DVD shrink was evident.

I could still see plainly, individual hairs and the overall degradation would not be noticeable unless you used a HD screen.

There was the option to use a dual layer disk, but for this purpose, I chose to not spend the 3$.

Heck, This gets 4 thumbs up.

Simple to understand and run? Yep. My Mom could do this.

The price is about 5 dollars more than I'd pay if I was just stumbling along a shelf of many choices.

Hi - Here are my results with this copier. I normally use Aieesoft for making my backup copies. Today, I just go in two dozen DVDs that I want to preserve so that the kids do not wreck them. With the Aieesoft I found that copying took twice as long as with Magic. Also, Aieesoft kicked out 1 of every 3 disks on no verification which increased my household supply of coasters. With this Magic copier, I produced no coasters today using the same DVDs that I normally use.

It copied a DVD that would have needed to be compressed to burn to another DVD, but how can you view the files copied to a hard drive?
I'd appreciate an answer.

I am sure there is some kind of DVD copying software on Windows pre-installed operating systems.

I've downloaded this and made a copy of Finding Nemo. While not a recent movie it did a GREAT job coping and burning. I watched the newly burned DVD and it was of excellent quality and there were no flaws. I don't own any newly released movies (I have Netflex) I would recommend this freebie! Thank you GAOTD!

There are numerous reasons why someone would want to copy a DVD to another DVD or to their hard drive, one of them for backup as mentioned.
My entire house is networked, and I'm busy installing a media server that will enable any person at a TV or computer or monitor to view or listen to any of thousands of LEGAL media content, not only ripped DVDs. I actually bought the license for this program several years ago. I LOVE IT!!! Great giveaway of the day.

I often search for older DVDs online. Often, the only supplier for a particular title is in the UK. With this program, I can widen the search knowing they will play here in Idaho. It also widens the re-seller's market. This is a highly desirable, legitimate use for this type of software.

This software CAN be used to pirate DVDs, sure. However, I use it to copy my legally purchased/licensed DVDs to my NAS and watch them thru my PS3. DVDs scratch far too easily, especially if your children handle them. I don't make disc-to-disc copies. It would be a waste of recordable DVD media.

I have not made any copies of my purchased blureray discs, as the surface of those is less prone to scratching.

The included help file appears to be broken; the index displays, but no content does. Mind you, extracting the HTML files from it using 7-Zip shows that there isn't much actual documentation in there anyway.

In particular, I can't find any explanation of what "Import SLF" does. I think it tells the program to download updated protection cracking schemes, but it would be nice if the publisher bothered to actually document what such an obscurely named command does.

Installed the program and tried it out. In 1 hour I got a 4.7gb disc image (iso) that was playable on VLC Media Player without any problems. Of course the time it takes to rip a disc depends on your system. Program rips to smaller single layer disc formats so a thumbs up for this one.

If you take a look at the previous Giveaways of different DVD Copy software you will notice they all had a similar theme to them. Well this one at least does not attempt to copy the competition. Although it has a very simplistic interface, it is straight forward and you don't have those messy avi, mp4 choice options to worry about when it comes to getting the perfect quality. You can also switch the skin to something simple, but if you switch it to "none" you can click the program icon at the top left of the windows title bar and you can apply the Corona skin again.

Region codes are not a problem. A small free program DVD43 will get round region codes. Check it out on Google.

In regards to comment #1: When my daughter was at College, last thing I wanted to do was send the 'original' disks of some expensive software with her!! So I cloned them so she would have the disks - but not worrying about the originals 'walking away."

This program allowed me to take a scratched DVD that would not play on anything and generate a copy that played through with only a few slight pixel glitches (barely noticible) while 99.99% played flawlessly.

Btw, I've used this for years. Great software, easily updates over old copy - no uninstall & reinstall. Great cheaper version of DVDFab or AnyDVD/CloneDVD combination. Another way to do this for free is use DVDFab free to copy disk to hard drive, then use old DVD Shrink software to compress & fit on a DVD5.

The reasons I like saving my dvd copy files in iso format are all convenience-related:

a. It's easy to save those iso copies on an external hard drive for safe-keeping.

b. It's easy to use portable VLC to watch those backed-up iso copies on my computer.

c. It's easy to burn them to dvd with imgburn.

I like to back up my DVDs and just play back the copy. So I keep the original DVD almost untouched and in great condition. In case my copy breaks down due to scratches, I still own the original disc and can easily reproduce a working copy again.
When I visit my friends or family, I always take the copy with me..., would be a great financial loss if the original DVD breaks down and I have to buy it again. So take care of your discs!

If U make a copy of something, U did not deprive someone of any property as the original is still in the owner's hand. The 1st poster probably works for the "entertainment" industry.

The more pressing questions is why anyone would want to see or copy any of the crap they're producing. But, that's a personal decision & none of my business.

I bought this a little over 1 year ago. It is and has been the easiest, most user friendly copier I've found.

I purchased this software about 16 months ago and recently was updated to this newer giveaway version. This software has never failed, Never! No coasters, no corruptions. Yes,contrary to a previous comment it does remove the latest encryption coding. No third party software like Any DVD is necessary and the program will ask the user to exit that program as a conflict. For those who want to copy their Btu-ray disks the best software from my experience is Blu-Cloner but this app does require Any DVD or like independent software and the success rate is not 100%. Personally I don't find Blu-ray copying worth the extended time and effort but others may.

I downloaded this program and gave it a try. Not too bad, but pretty worthless after a few months without continuing updates. Then, considering the cost, I have found the most consistently reliable DVD decryption software to be from SlySoft. The decryption program is AnyDVD and the matching copying component is CloneDVD. Updates are regular and in many years of use, it has NEVER failed me. This is certainly one of those cases where you do tend to get what you pay for.

For those saying you wonder why people copy DVD movies: I guess you don't have little kids. Our original copies of Nemo, Shrek, etc. are no longer playable. So the DVDs available to the kids are now their "Personal Copies".

#37 - Burning other formats like YouTube isn't in the feature list for this product. It is for DVD copying (hence the name).

Installed and registered fine on XP SP3 32-bit. It was able to pick the main movie out of a test disk (to avoid all the other stuff that just causes more compression when going DVD9->DVD4). I didn't go through the entire burning process, but perhaps this will work in the few cases where freeware DVDShrink does not.

the program 'Ideal DVD copy' offered here some time back was in my opinion one of the best even rivaling DVDFab...as best as i could tell DVDFab didn't have the capability to shrink long DVD's like 'Ideal' did so i hope this giveaway today does...thanks for the offering

Registration was fast and painless.
This program has the most simple interface I have ever seen.
Copied an Older DVD and it worked fine, with good quality.

This program gets a thumbs up for simplicity.

Magic DVD Copier may very well be good software. But for those interested in other free options, here's a fail-safe and flexible alternative process that I have been using for a long time to copy dvd's:

1. DVDFab and the free decrypter feature. (And you can always download the latest version to decrypt newer encryptions.)

2. Save the decrypted dvd in iso format

3. If the movie consists of two dvd's, use DVDShink to shrink down to one. Save that output to iso format.

4. Burn iso's to dvd using imgburn.

Lastly, I install the above software in a sandbox (Sandboxie) and nothing ever touches my real system.
