installed this, NOT for my msoffice programs but for typing in comments like this one. installed in my win7 x64 system ok, appears to be registered, works as stated. however, no 'sentence case' option for just capatalising the 1st letter in a sentence. hitting a key combo on a hilighted text leaves the text unhilighted so you need to re-hilight it if you want to do more with it, and you can only use the keys to perform the operations rather than hilighting/right clicking to a context menu which would be more convenient. it says "word near to the cursor' but only worls on characters to the left of the cursor if it is inside a word.

nice try but a bit to non-intuitive for occasional use.

Ashraf of DotTexh who reviews GOTD software regularly, has this available.
It is a FREE program that gives these warnings when Capslock is on -
- Visual (trust me, it is not a PIA)
- Sound (You can choose pitch and duration)
- Visual and Sound
You can set which type of warning you get.
The program is portable, and uses negligible resources.
The author has kindly donated it to Ashraf's members.
If you become a member, you too can get it free.

http://dottech.org/freewaresr/14733#

If you have trouble with that link, then do a Google for -
CapsLock Warning: A failsafe for notorious

The author has recently built in NumLock warning as well.
You might care to nag Ashraf, to ensure that he has the latest version, prior to your download. (Though since it does not need installation, it is a 'piece of cake' to switch to a later version.)
It does not have case toggling built in, as you never need it after you start running that program. However if any of you still feel that you need that ability, you could raise it on the forum. (I know the author better than anyone, so I am sure he would build it in.)

Rob

PS For those that say Windows can give you an audible warning, that is only of use if you accidentally hit the Capslock key.
However it does not cater for the situation where you deliberately turned it on, then forgot to turn it off. The above program caters for both scenarios.

@M
I have tried this in web forms, and forums and other places and it works.
if the only thing you type in in mso then there probably is no point.
I like it.

this software does work as it says, installed and activated fine on my pc, xp.

@Spiritwolf, if you look at the settings window, the box is checked to start auto with windows , so it is always on so most wouldnt need a shortcut. If you want to turn it on and off then make a shortcut ,it isnt that hard. also there is no need for a interface, just print out the commands in the read me.

for those with reg problems you need to allow permission for the gaotd .exe to access the internet. my firewall asks if it is ok and I click yes on every install. also I am administrator always.
reg problem are mostly fault of the user not the software.

And I thought that I would have little or no use for this program. I was wrong. Today I have used it four or five times - including filling forms on my income tax.

It is a shame that people voice strong opinions about program they have never used. I think that there should be a delay of thirty minutes from the time that GOTD is opened to the time that one is allowed to vote or make a comment.

Is it REGISTERED or not?

I'm not too sure how helpful the text is - but the difference between the shareware/unregistered and the GOTD/registered versions can be seen here.

Unregistered About Box

Registered About Box

so "Unregistered = Registered".

Clear? Good. ;)
