Libellus Book Organizer is the greatest for booklovers who have large collections like I do! Installs easily. I registered using the key name and number they told me to use, and have a fully functioning copy. I did go to their website and read the instructions--it's only 5-6 pages long. For the folks who are having problems: If you want to easily import all the info for a book, use the "Search" drop-down menu and select "Search on the Internet". In the window that opens up, type the ISBN number for the book--OMIT the dashes, just input the numbers. Then select "Search Now" and it will present the book title, which you must double-click, and then it will fill in all the info for you including price. I have several thousand books and have been wanting to catalog them.
Thanks guys for this truly great piece of software!

You've got to be kidding me... I absolutely LOVE this program. To the developers who wrote the code and to giveawayoftheday I say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I feel like this was meant for me. When I worked at Walden Books, this was the kind of information I would access when I did a search for a customer. The internet lookup function is sensational. I'm so thrilled to have this program! I used to think Quicken was my greatest addiction. But baby, I've found a new vice! I promise I'll show my gratitude for this free program by telling all my book-loving friends they've got to get it. It's like having ITunes for my books! The interface is simple, the look is clean. But my favorite function is the ability to keyword an idea and grab books for my wishlist. BRILLIANT!!!

Works fine for me! Yes, there is a little extra work in re-catorization and deleting, but I love the internet search. I can type in my book title, do an internet search, and there is my book in the list. I double click the book, and when the window opens I hit "import book" and it is added to my book list. Much easier than typing all of the data!

I do have old research books however, many out of print, so I am not sure how it will work for those. However, it was great with my trial run listing more recent books.

Why are you all belly-aching over this?

So you got hundreds of books and want to organise them...buy a shelf!

I'm mystified why people use software to solve every dilemma in their lives.

How quickly can you walk to a shelf and scan your eyes over a row of books to physically read it....compared to switching on your PC, have Windows load, have the app load, do a search, discover it's on that shelf behind you, and read the book online while having small amounts of radiation fired into your eyes and brain!

Sheeeeesh!

If this software usually costs money - that's daylight robbery! However, it's people who cut their programming teeth on coding these basic things that we are indebted to for every single thing we do on our computers. More power to them. Without the Loneliness of the Long Distance Programmer there'd be no Internet.

Semi-detailed review.

I have a couple hundred paperback novels of various topics I want to categorize, so I'm eager to put this to the test.

Installed the program, it was fast.

Started the program... I run 1024x768 res, standard nowadays. The program started in the middle of the screen, taking up only maybe 640x480, and the window is NOT RESIZABLE! WTF?! I can't make it use the entire screen?!?! What kind of imbecile program is this that won't maximize? You're an application, NOT a screensaver or a game!

Okay, continue. There's a bunch of books in the existing database. As I have none of those, I selected all of them and hit DELETE.

Nothing happened.

I right-clicked: the highlight of all went to that ONE record I clicked, but STILL nothing happened. Apparently this program doesn't even know what a right-click is. In fact, there is no menu bar, just a toolbar, and even that has no DELETE button on it at all!

In order to delete a record, you have to double-click the reocrd to open up the book detail view, then at the bottom there's a "Delete book" button. Click that, answer YES to "are you sure?!" and bing! the record's gone. So to delete 10 records, I have to double-click 10 times, hit delete book 10 times, answer Yes 10 times, click OK 10 times. WTF?! Who designed this program that doesn't allow "mass edits"?

To recategorize 1 book, I used bult-in fuction, then found that you can only change one book at a time, even though I highlighted like seven of right of them.

While Internet search does work, it's really just an interface to Amazon.com.

Not worth the download time, IMHO. This sort of Interface just just completely unacceptable in a modern program.
