The software worked great for me the first few times..it ripped really fast, the rips were of good quality and then all of a sudden ..wham ..it threw up the Range check error///the lekusoft recommendations don't work and problem remains. Even tried reinstalling but no go. I have it on 3 different pcs but all show the same thing...range check error.

Got the email for this giveaway at 2130 (PST), 06 Apr 2010 and downloaded the software. Got my Registration Number and Register Code a few minutes later via email. Installed said software. Went to register software with Codes provided by Lekusoft, only to be informed that the Codes were "invalid!" Contacted them via email to inform them of this mixup (all of this before the midnight deadline) and was told, "Sorry! ...Too many downloads all at the same time today! However, we'll be more than happy to give you the Full Version at 50% off!"
Will I ever buy anything from this company? No. Will I recommend them to my friends? No! Downloader, BEWARE!

The software works great on my Quad machine running Windows 7 64bit. Open the IFO not the DVD it works perfect. Make sure to choose the IFO with all the movie chapter. I had to pick IFO 4 in Starski and Hutch. You only need to check the box that has all the chapter. Mine said it had 30 chapter and was 1:40:00 in time. Make sure to select you file output type first and then your destination folder. Then click START and sit back and wait. ....

I really like this site but was wondering products are tested or screened in any way? I get the same error as others. Unfortunately I told others about this site today before I tried the install. I realize it is free but if you multiply the amount of time that has been waisted by the number of users that are having problems it adds up. I was excited to see the video output options but obviously disappointed when it did not work.

I have the same problem as 56/Rasmus: ‘1.00′ is not a valid floating point point value. (Vista32 english)

I have to stop Lekusoft with the process manager but fdvdrp.dat keeps running in the background, writing a 400 MB rip in 30 seconds, before I stop it. This partly done ripped file isn't readable in any mediaplayer I use.

I get the same Range Check Error. A worthless piece of software if it will not work. There is no support for you to try and resolve the problem. I will be looking elsewhere and paying for software that works.

If you're trying to open DVD source files from folders, do not choose VIDEO_TS.IFO, but rather one of the VTS_xx_x.IFO files. This should avoid much of the range errors and crashing.

Nonetheless, this program is very rough around the edges and needs quite a bit more polish from top to bottom.

If this program will not read from a commercial dvd, then it should not be called a ripper.

Didn't work. Got "blu-ray not supported" on one blu-ray disc repeatedly, then got another disc to load and initialize on first try, but it doesn't actually start ripping. So try again with different profile settings, and then got the "blu-ray not supported" error. Same result after reloading program and disc several times. Will uninstall.

It doesn't appear to have the ability to control settings on a more advanced level. Making it simple for people who don't want to deal with those settings is fine, but if there is no access to them at all, then the program is just not very useful to me. When it comes to video rippers, I want to be able to access all the codec configuration settings in both audio and video. I don't want these to be chosen for me because the settings just don't go deep enough to allow choices.
Something like VirtualDub, except with more user friendly configuration is what the world really needs, IMO.
VDub can be a bit overwhelming for those who don't know what all that stuff means, and lets face it, few of us do! Video/audio encoding can be very in depth. I still don't know what everything is in VDub, but I do appreciate the depth of the program because it does cover a lot of those things that programs like this don't even come close to.
A happy medium would be nice...maybe something with an advanced editor option, and a little more guidance in some of those confusing areas that most people don't understand, without spending some real time doing the research and learning.
This one appears to be yet another video utility that falls short of my video/audio encoding and conversion needs.

Got Range Check Error as well. Well, sort of. I first tried copying a DVD (Not BR) which I was sure would have copy protection, The Hangover. Got Range Check Error. So, I decided to try an older DVD, not likely copy protected (H.G.Wells First Men in the Moon), copying ok. So, conclusion, does not work with copy protected DVD's, making this sw largely useless.

There seems to be a misunderstanding about MKV format support. The manufacturer's site does not state that MKV output is available, shame it's the best format for Bu-Ray ripping. I'll stick with MakeMKV for now it's free while still in Beta.

Tried a couple of different DVD's and always received the same "Range Error" message, resulting in no rip.
So, off the computer it goes! Software publisher needs to explain why this error seems so common & give a work around or, better yet, fix the problem.
BTW, I see no reason the publisher is so highlighting Blu-Ray. Blu Ray is not catching on and DVD's still outsell Blu Ray at least 20 to 1. Might be missing a lot of sales by downplaying the software's DVD ability.

I downloaded this software and it is currently burning the movie Superbad Unrated Edition to my computer, I didn't get a range check error or anything, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. It installed and ran perfectly. I am burning it from the DVD format to XBox 360 format HD mpg. I think the range check error might be caused by a format that your trying to burn to, that isn't possible for your DVD. Like trying to burn a standard DVD into a bluray HD version.

Superbad is also just a standard DVD not bluray

Well I took an unprotected dvd and tried to make a copy but all I got was '1.00' is not a valid floating point point value. When I try to do the conversion I get hundreds of popups just like the one above, only difference is different numbers.
I am using a danish version of Vista home premium 32

The program installed fine on Win 7 64 Pro, but I didn't try to rip anything because I don't have a Blu Ray drive, nor any ISO or IFO files from DVDs. I was hoping this might be able to convert video files too, but not from what I can tell.

F.Y.I.

Version supplied for GOTD is v5.2 .
Current version released on April 1st was v5.3 with added features such as ability to manually adjust output dynamics, which I could use.

Installed fine on my Windows XP MCE Roll-up 2 version. Will have to try ripping later.

As with almost all Asian companies the translation of the English language in print, on the website and in the product is quite poor. I never understand why companies and individuals from outside the USA (UK & other native English countries), who target the USA & UK , do not run their copy through a word-processor, like MS Word, that can check grammar. Hate to admit it but many of the USA websites selling product need to do this too as it shows how poor our public school systems have been for 2 to 3 decades. Come on people selling things, if the spelling and grammar (and posted Copyright dates are years out of range) are really poor, why would we trust your thought processes in developing software or for that matter in taking our money........ Oh Boy! Did I just start ranting in the middle of my post? Sorry guys but it is a pet-peeve with me as it says lazy when you want my money and trust.

God bless all and have a great day! Thanks GOTD people and website! Keep up the good work and for finding us good software.

I'm able to use it with my Harry Potter blu-ray disc without any problem. I have windows 7 64-bit with 8GB of ram. This is the only Blu-ray disc I have and it is the most recent release of Harry Potter, the Order of the Phoenix, so I assume it has some kind of copy protection.

Installed the package from here and the direct download that #34 posted and both still give me "range check error". Running Vista Business 32bit. I also used a DVD I made at work that has no copyright protection on it. I realize this is free software but the fact that the developer/publisher hasn't piped in here and fixed this issue is really saying something. This site is a great place for businesses to show what they've got and gain new customers. I guess LukuSoft = fail. I will uninstall.
