This product recognizes my phone and itunes, but only once have I been able to transfer a file. In this case it was a small ringtone. The product simply crashes and offers to send an error log

Program crashes constantly on my Vista computer, so I uninstalled and install on my Win7 computer, which works, but Registration code will not release from Vista computer so I can use on Win 7 computer.

Anyone know how to get the Vista computer to release Registration code as I uninstalled since it constantly crashes on Vista?

iTunes is a real pain – if you plug in your friend’s iPod, it will silently format the iPod… and get you a really angry friend. I haven’t got another iPod to test with at the moment, but if this iTransfer avoids the issue, it’s a useful piece of software to have.

I downloaded today's offer, iTransfer, and installed per instructions. Promptly received key via email, started program up, entered key on registration page, but received error indicating that it could not obtain a computer ID, and that I should use an administrator account...I AM using an admin account...what gives?? Anyone else with this issue?

after going and installing itunes to finish install, providing emailed code yields "Failed to get computer ID. Please make sure you are using an administrator account". Vista 64. Never before had an install problem with GAOTD installs. Awkward and clumsy install process which fails after an investment of time and effort...

Hi Samsen,
As far as I know, Leawo iTransfer has added support to iPhone 5 and Windows 8. So I don't think you can blame all those unrecognized things to the software. Before you draw a conclusion, you need to check if you have the latest iTunes installed beforehand. You know, iOS 6 is a system born a few months ago. If not, update iTunes to the latest version. Otherwise, you can contact the manufacturer for help via email or something.

This iTransfer installs and works fine for me (Winows7 Home Premium, iPod Touch 5). It transfers photos, movies, music, Books and apps successfully. Interface also looks good. I can always use this convenient tool in place of the annoying iTunes.

1. Finally figured out that I needed to click on
Manufacturers Page". Filled in info and looked for 'Submit' button and couldn't find one. So I left. without doing anything.
2. Messed around a little and went back to "Manufacturer's Page", filled in info again and clicked 'Get It Now'. Whatever "It" was and it said it would send the code to the email address.
3. Never got a code so I tried again and got an error about only doing it on one computer or some such nonsense.
4. 6 hours later and still no code. Looked at it for a minute and it looked OK. About like iTunes. If I don't get a code by tonight. then bye-bye iTransfer. I'll stick with iTunes and Phone Drive.

Another (free) alternative is CopyTrans Manager:

http://download.cnet.com/CopyTrans-Manager/3000-18546_4-10842241.html?tag=mncol;2

It's a simple and straightforward way to load files onto a device - unlike the iTunes "bloatware." I've used it for a couple of years with no problems and can recommend it.

I really wonder if there is an app that would work with IOS devices that does not require iTunes. I so hate iTunes. Seems this app is not one, as it wanted me to install iTunes. Other than a simplified interface, I really don't see the point.

- Downloaded.
- Installed on Win7 64, but changed the directory to "iphone" instead of default for simple finding where my related stuff is rather than a companies name that once you have installed few other products from GAOTD, you will have no clue what folders on your C: drive are or where to find the icon to run the program from your "start" > "All programs" as without reference to function of program, companies name harboring the subdirectory for that programm, becomes a soon big hasslel to find the right program I need.
- Went to web page to exchange name and email for Reg code.
- I really don't like this exchange as it somehow implies a concept not Really Free software as those info can be later on exchange for cash (No mater what the fine prints says).
- Got the code instantly in email. Wow. A lot of time this is a hassle and I had to instantly uninstall some of GAOTD products due to same reason. Do see a comment above from another poster that has this problem right now and I am not sure why programmers wont go through a standard, easy, no email needed Registration like some other products here, if customers satisfaction is the name of the game.
- Entered the code and got successfully done notice.
- As a person who is primarily PC / Android user till now and very recently for the taste of it, got iphone 5 just to realize how I hate it (I like to have ability to see what I have with ability to intract fully and rationally, understanding anatomy of my product and totally miss all with this iphone), I was looking for a way to be able to change and add my loved ringtones, add my music beside the dictated itune etc etc. So this software came as God sent item in the right time. What a thought...
- Got the screen "Its safe to connect device".
- Wow... I am ready. Well connected my iphone 5 and nothing happens.
- Clicked the Refresh device icon. Nothing.
- Turned off the computer and reboot. Nothing.
- went through Help icon. Nothing useful.
- While entering data for reg code, I notice the option to pay $2 and get update and help for 1 year, that draw my attention as with iphone 5 being a new product, surely bugs with show up soon and update at that price would be nice too, so I was planning to buy that once seeing the general function of program. BTW the price program at under $20 was appropriate to me, and surely I would consider a simple way to get my control over this devil's device (iphone5) for the price if effective (-And for the record, I've bought extra plan option to return the phone for a garantted returned price before plan ends, that might be used very soon:( )
- Well at this point, with nothing working I am going to uninstall. I don't need any extra hassle. May be change of directory causes a problem but I don't have more time to spend here for today.

Conclusion: Thumbs down.

It's not only one key per computer but one key per person. It reads your IP address so even if you want one key for your laptop and one for your PC, you will have to clear your cookies and cache and use another IP address. I guess I will either get a key from work or ask one of my many friends who do not use iphones to get me a key.

One concern is Apple's strict policies. Sharing paid apps between iphones/ipads is of course against Apple's policies. I wonder what happens if they find out. I think it's ironic that Leawo limit's this "Giveaway" to one computer but thier tool is designed to put apps intended for just one device one several.

It doesn't work under Windows 8.

Installs fine but when you enter registration code it says "Can't get machine ID, make sure you are signed in as an administrator". It does this even when signed in with admin rights AND running the program elevated.

To be honest, I love iPhone but I hate its transference system. Why won’t Apple provide the Micro SD slot for iPhone. Sometimes, sync with iPhone can be quite painful experience when you found all the data have gone after the sync. Sometimes I even want to make a switch from iOS to Android. Luckily, I get third-party app like iTransfer which makes sync process free of agony. Anyway, if iTunes can be that good, I think Apple won’t need to worry about the jail break.

I have 2 pods and 2 iphones and none work like I do.

Oddly this requires I MUST organize my music using apple's software first. This is insantiy. This software requires itunes to be installed.

Can't anyone design a simple system that doesn't rely on Jobs convoluted nightmare to play music? I simply want to copy music to my device and play them. I am not a DJ I do not want to spend hours of creating play lists.

Just like my tape records and cd's, I pick one - put it in and play.

Can't anyone figure this out?

SIMPLY RIP OFF!!
Giveaway means YOU'RE GIVING IT AWAY and not to limit the times you register the product. This is the only software here in GOTD that impose this policy "Sorry, one code for each person only! Please purchase more from our site if needed. Thanks!"
Don't offer you're product for free if you're main goal is to make a PROFIT and not to let everyone test it. If I rate it right now, I hardly could put 1 star!!

"does this software transfer data even if the itunes is installed? do i need to close itunes before starting this app to avoid any mess-up?"
In fact, you must install iTunes to make sure Leawo iTransfer works. Whether you open iTunes or not, Leawo iTransfer will manage data transference in the same way. Moreover, a big difference between Leawo iTransfer and iTunes lies in that iTransfer provides you more choices on transferring data such as transferring photos from one iPod to another. So don't worry about it may reject iTunes, they can cooperate harmoniously.

I accidentally sent the wrong email when auto filling in the key code request form (I'd made a previous mistake with my email by leaving out a letter and haven't got around to clearing out my cache to get rid of the error) Now I can't get a key code because Leawo only allow one request per url.

What happens to those who share an IP for example a group of students living together in halls of residence or sharing a student house flat or house (I used to share with seven other students when I was at university)

When I got my first iPad in hand in October, I was much annoyed by the iTunes. Even though iTunes allows to transfer my music and movie from my sony PC to iPad, it is difficult to transfer files from iPad to PC,especially those photos and music I downloaded from website not from iTunes! After I got this iTransfer, everything became a piece of cake! Drag-and-drog can easily move files between PC and my iPad! Now I can enjoy my iPad now! Yup, Leawo iTransfer is my hero!

Finally a product (and by the way... it looks EXCELLENT !!) which does NOT belong to a saturated field, maybe because it can only be used by Apple devices' owners (just 58 vs 107 at the moment, according to the GAOTD users rating system...LOL!!)

So does this mean that GAOTD team have just for once beaten Giovanni, so that he cannot mention any FREEWARE ALTERNATIVES today?

Certainly NOT!!

* FILE STORAGE and/or FILE TRANSFER
The second FREE app is a more compherensive tool when compared to this GAOTD, since it enables you to quickly share files also between your Macs and PCs. Cool, isn't it dudes??

http://www.delitestudio.com/our-apps/file-storage
http://www.delitestudio.com/our-apps/file-transfer

(On Softpedia it's FREE ==> http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/File-Management/Delite-Studio-File-Transfer.shtml)

* iPhone USB Explorer
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Mobile-Phone-Tools/IPhone/iPhone-USB-Explorer.shtml

* Phone Trans
http://www.imobie.com/phonetrans

Bottom line: even in a NON Saturated field like this, with Giovanni wandering around, it's possible using good FREEWARE ALTERNATIVES ki$$ing your wallet goodbye.

Enjoy!!

in a single OS environment, itunes does not allow to connect two similar idevices like ipod video and ipod touch. if you connect one ipod and sync and remove, and then connect the other ipod, itunes does not like it. i.e., you cannot now transfer the same set of music, etc to this 2nd ipod. i had to solve this problem by creating two user a/cs.
does this software transfer data even if the itunes is installed? do i need to close itunes before starting this app to avoid any mess-up?

Installed.

It says "There is no disk in unit D" during installation and during run if my CD-player (D:) is open and sometimes even if it is closed with no CD or DVD inside!

But I can come around that by clicking "Cancel" several times until the dialog box closes, and then the program starts OK as well as I can say without trying an actual transfer.

There is no "key" symbol in the program, but "Register" is found in the "Help" menu, and the program regitreed OK.
