Had the same problem as Pete on XP SP 2.

Crashed halfway through caching EVERY time. I can’t give you anymore details as I’ve uninstalled it.

This also happened with the freeware version I tried some months ago.

Good luck with the website – it’s a nice variant on the free/low-cost software sites. Would be nice to see some software that is a clear league above freeware.

I’ve been looking for a solution along these lines. I have been getting a lot of use out of this since I picked it up. I recommend those who missed the giveaway give the software a trial. Very easy to use. Simple but has some really advanced features too.

I like your site and the idea behind it.
As to this program, I downloaded it and installed it on 3 of our coumputers. It worked on only one. Specifically, hovering the mouse over the start button did nothing. (Yes, it’s checked in ‘prefs.”)
This morning, the computer that worked has the same issue, no pop up menu. I pulled it off the other 2 and will pull it off this one, as that’s the main advantage of the program.
FYI when you uninstall, you’re sent to the site to give feedback as to why you uninstalled. The problem I have with that is “Add-remove programs” freezes UNTIL you CLOSE the opened browser window (FF) I almost re-booted before I tried that.

I like you site & really appreciate what you do. I think it’s a great way to expose people to what is out there.

I do have a question though. Since you can only use the activation key the day it’s offered for free, what do you do if you have to reload it? Is there a way to back it up & if so how?

hmmm, seems a little ironic that a website that gives away tons of software, now is giving away software to manage the software that you’ve downloaded! actually, i think the program is really good. If your like me and have tons of apps, than this is good for you.

but yes, i would like to see more “popular” software on the site every now and then. But really, you guys have done a great job, i love your site, its a great idea all around and is executed rather nicely, I tell everyone i know about this place :)
