Regarding the previous comment, iSpring Pro actually works with earlier version of PowerPoint so there is no reason to not give it a try.

If I format/Reinstall Windows on my computer how can I reinstall this software since it required activation on the 4th of March? Do I have a serial number stored with the program that I can re-enter?

#114 G, the problem is if any program writes to the H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry tree it by definition affects ALL USERS, so by default in Vista and XP require Administrative access rights.

Under XP the program simply fails if it is not run with Admin rights, under Vista the program switches to Virtualised mode and certain write and subsiquent read attempts are redirected "transparently" to special USER specific folders. The problem here is Activate.exe is different to the addin executable so Vista detects Activate.exe needs to be virtualised and does so... and if it read back from what it considered the KHLM tree it would see the virtualised user specific data... but as the Addin has not written to HKLM tree it is not virtualised and so it's read of HKLM to check the activation user and and keycode are not redirected to the user specific virtual store and see's the real HKLM tree that lacks the activation data. The Solution I see would be use the HKCU user specific tree. I would never recomend disabling UAC in Vista for one simple reason... Vistas security model ASSUMES UAC is in place and so windows defender for Vista fails to even look at settings that require UAC intervention to perform. These same settings in XP SP2 are monitored and changes flagged and allerted for user confirmation ofchanges by the XP SP2 specific Wndows Defender.

There are various levels of experience here, so mentioning that we need to right click and run activate.exe as administrator if we are using Vista would be a great add to the included readme.txt. Then, when we are told to read and follow directions in the readme.txt file they would all be there, in a user friendly sort of way. Note that I am not asking for directions for Phil's OS, I am asking for directions for Vista, arguably one of the most common OSs on the planet.

When you tell us to read the directions, don't assume we all know to right click and run as administrator. Some of us are very new to Vista. Like me. Besides, I am blonde and need all the help I can get.

Thanks for another great program!
