I really like this program. I am a teacher who uses powerpoint 2007 to create his notes. I can easily make the notes available online in a format that anyone can access. Thank you!

Alexey Malov, thank you for checking on this page from time to time and helping those of us that run into complications. That says a lot for you and your company. A big "thank you" to iSpring and GOTD for making this available! I found it just in time before the deadline so I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but it sounds very handy and it installed without any problems on my XP Pro SP2.

To all who asks:
This software requires MS PowerPoint. Why is it a requirement?

iSpring (like many other PPT to Flash converters on the market) uses some PowerPoint facilities to get the information about presentation content. It simplifies the development since parsing poorly documented binary PPT file format is a quite challenging task. PowerPoint objects rendering without help of PowerPoint is also challenging task.

There are hundreds of millions of people in the world who have PowerPoint installed. They don't care if PowerPoint to Flash converters require PowerPoint or not - they expect their presentation to be converted to Flash perfectly.

This product doesn't work with Open Office. What shall I do?
The fact is iSpring is a MS PowerPoint add-in and doesn't work in Open Office. PowerPoint and Impress are different products and their add-ins are not compatible.
But don't give up!. Impress can export its document as PPT format. You can still upload the resulting PPT file to slideboom.com where it will be converted to Flash. Then, you can embed it into your web site or blog.

Open Office can export presentations to Flash. And it is free.
Yes, that's true. If your presentations doesn't contain animations and sounds/videos, the SWF export feature of the open office will suit you well. Otherwise you can take a look at free desktop and online alternatives, for example:

iSpring Free
AuthorPoint Lite
SlideBoom.com
SlideShare.net

or even commercial ones.

I have vs. 3.1 installed from a prior GAOTD. Can I also now install 3.5, or do I have to uninstall 3.1 first? I'm afraid if I don't uninstall vs. 3.1, than 3.5 might be treated as an "upgrade" and then maybe revert to a 30 day trial status. Does anyone know the answer?

@86 allthumbz

- after the first slide, iSpring Pro slightly broke up the PowerPoint template’s background graphics (I can capture the screen and email my example to you, if you wish)

We will highly appreciate if you send us a sample presentation that illustrates the problem. You can send it to support[at]ispringsolutions.com and mark your message as: "Please forward this to Alexey".

- viewing the Flash output in my browser, when I clicked on any Web link created in the iSpring settings, it tried to search for the Web site locally on my hard drive. (I tried again, this time adding the http:// in front of http://www... and that solved this issue but should that really be necessary?)

Thank you for this notice. Sometimes http:// is necessary to avoid ambiguity. For example, there can be a file "something.doc" in the same folder where your Flash presentation is published. Turning it into the http://something.doc is wrong. Anyway, thanks for the comment, we will think on this issue and find a solution how to make it better.

- narration I recorded in PowerPoint (set to Auto Change with the slides) did not play in Flash file; I tried changing the setting from Force bitrate to Keep original bitrate and the resulting Flash file was 40% larger but still no sound; then I chose the option to detach the audio - a data folder was created with Flash sound files in it but they played no sound.

Make sure you are not using the "Banner" player template. Banner template uses a lightweight playback core with no sounds and slide transitions support. If you need to export the presentation without UI, use the "None" player (it has sound support). If the problem still exists we will appreciate if you send us your presentation along with the problematic sound files.

- when I chose iSpring Pro’s Advanced player and clicked the Customize button, nothing happened

Skin customization requires Flash Player ActiveX component to be installed. You can install it by opening the following link in Internet Explorer: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash Please use just IE (not Firefox/Opera/Safari) since IE is the only web browser that uses ActiveX version of the Flash player. If this problem still exists, you may contact our technical support at the e-mail address in the beginning of my comment.
