The program doesn't work for a start. I added various videos and clicked to convert to iPod and the program reported that it was done. It saved a 6kb file. Yeh, converting failed. Not just that, but when I tried converting video to Pocket PC format, the program crashed. Back to using mediacoder!

I took a chance and ignored all the negaative comments of 72% down and 28% up and tried this out and IT DOES WORK. it is converting a rmvb file to mp4 right now as i post this. I have tried freeware and pay programs and they did not convert my rmvb file to mp4, all I got were error and can not convert messages. this one was very easy to figure out what to do to convert and start the convert program. just pick out the file you want to convert, select it then pick out how you want to convert it and then where to place the converted file once it is done then press start. it also has the option to turn off your computer if you want it to if you leave it running then go out or to bed it will do that for you. you can also bulk convert if you want to, also.
a very happy first poster nicknamed curiousgeorge

At the moment I’m trying to work out which if any of my XBox, cell phone, PalmOS PDA, WinCE PDA, JXD301 and CMD F70 PMP will actually *play* 3GP files. If it turns out that any of them do, I’ll review this software. At the moment though it’s looking like I get Sunday off from GAOTD this week :-)

You know, it really wasn't obvious from the description that this generates files in anything other than 3GP format. I didn't work this out until I installed the program and started playing with the tabs.

By the way, a menu would be nice. Icons are all very fine but it wasn't at all obvious at first where to click to register. Happened across it by accident while clicking on anywhere that looked like it could be clicked on... the link to paying, and to register should be on the Help menu. You do want people to find it easily after all.

OK, I installed it, and when adding/opening files there are several pre-defined types to choose from, and FLV is not among them that I could tell.

So unless there is another way to convert this format (that was not obvious to me), I think their web page has a mistake: perhaps the "FLV" reference should be removed (on the "corrected" page link for this product which I listed in a prior comment).

However, it did very quickly convert an AVI "test" file to a properly-playing MP4 format file, much faster than the playback time.

Seems pretty good to me -- I see no harm in keeping it for at least a while.

Also, you never know when one brand converter might do a job that another can't -- I've certainly run into that situation before.

Thanks, GAOTD and A-one Software!

Yeah it's free sure - but like a bunch have said -- there are freeware/opensource alternatives that do the job better imo. And those are free to begin with.

Can't understand why anyone would actually pay for this.

I have to concur with the others that have said to use MediaCoder..it simply does everything this does and lots more, including Flash to any other format you want..and it's fast and free :)

OK I am currently in the process of reviewing EVERY SINGLE video converter around. and hell there is a lot of work.
The latest I tried is "A-one iPod PSP 3GP Video Converter" : and I'd have to give it thumbs down. It is nowhere near as complete as the last one I tried this morning : ConvertHQ Premium (neat, does a LOT of output formats all in one,etc ..).

OK this one (above) is free : someone spends their time programming such app .. for the good of mankind.

I guess you get what you pay for

Like #17 and #18, I get a blank window with no interface, just minimize, maximize and close buttons.

Nice Program, but i was not able to convert from wmv to 3gp, its start fine and one seconds later it says conversion completed and I have a 20 byte long 3gp file (the wmv is about 5 minutes long).

To bad it cant do flv files, but as long it is free why complain.
