I’ve played the game and my kids like it – but we have all found the arcade mode to be very easy – which makes the fun run out too fast and then the story mode is too hard. I even went looking for hints and walk throughs and finally found ONE person who got past level 4. It could be a really great game if the diffculty was more balanced and it wasn’t so hard to even get past level 1! Level 2 is a breeze, making money is the really easy part. Maybe I’m too smart to figure this one out?

After 2 weeks of playing, I gave it a thumbs down.

I just read through all these comments hoping for some insight on the game and I’m just really disgusted by most of you :P
My husband and I have both been playing this game. Muted the music, and the game isn’t perfect by any means, but it has been a nice time-waster. Our daughters (all under 5) enjoy watching the game.
MY QUESTION:
We cannot seem to get the game to work in arcade mode. It says you have to collect :) to unlock new areas and ice creams, but no matter how many satisfied customers there are, the :) do not count. Anybody have an ideas?

Download went fine using the mirror 2 link. Software installed without a hitch. I checked out the game and thought my 4yr old would like it. Maybe some other time. Played the game, upgraded push to bicyle. overall Rating showed 89% satisfied how ever I’m not making very much money. Have tried low rates, middle rates and even high rates. Been robbed twice, had melted ice-cream and a few disatisfied customers. Couldn’t afford to pay to see what kind of ice-cream the neighborhood wanted so made my own tally. All n all, the game is cute. I ended up pressing the “skip” button a few times and wished I could set this program on auto restock auto go just to see what happens while I’m away. (SimCity player) Will I play again? Yes. Thank you GGOTD.

It would be nice to see different sections for the types of comments posted.

first of all,i would like to thank you for all the great games and software you have posted for free,this site is great.i would like to ask a favor if i could,my daughters computer froze up yesterday so we weren’t able to finish downloading ice cream tycoon,could you please,please.please offer ice cream tycoon as a free download again,thanks and keep up the good work GAOTD…

Not many comments on the actual game this time, mainly complaints??!!?
The point of these comments being for the software and game providers to find out what we think of their works, not to winge at GAOTD for not giving enough!
Thankyou GAOTD, this is another very nice freebie that both my kids and I will enjoy.
Thankyou Merscom, you have given us some lovely games recently, the graphics are great, the kids love them and instead of wanting to spend money they want to make it! And on this one I’m not even wound up by the mouse control in this game as it’s spot on!! Keep at it!
