#65--this has happened to me a couple of times, too, and I discovered that after I had clicked on the Activate folder and it suggested that I extract all the folders in the download, which I did, that I had then forgotten to click on Activate again before clicking on Setup. The fix is obvious and certainly worth a try, namely, be sure to click on the Activate folder AGAIN after the download folders are all extracted. I know you said you followed instructions and I thought that I had done so also, but the mind plays tricks on you sometimes, and this was one, at least in my case and maybe in yours too, so why not give it a try.

I have never had trouble activating a program that I downloaded until now. For some reason the activation just didn't happen. Yes, I followed the instructions. No, I didn't upgrade. Using XP SP2. What a shame.

It seems rather crappy for a vendor to offer older version of sw here instead of the current version. It seems like cheating in a way.

I let it download the new version before I had read all the way through the forum, but when I closed the program and reopened it, it still shows the correct GAOTD version. I hope it doesn't screw itself up later on.

Looks good, like the line number display style. Wished it had the macro feature. Feels like the komodoedit (free version) but little lighter than that. I always like the lines for the indendations for the python files, easy for your eyes.

I've never understood the point of stand-alone programs for editing code. I find it too tiresome to switch to editor, type, switch to compiler, compile, run, switch back to editor to debug, ect. When you have more than a few bugs in your code, it takes a whole lot of switching back and forth, making, IMO, IDEs faster.

DO NOT UPDATE! Once you install, it prompts you to update. When (if) you update, you are updated with the 30 day trial version. I say GOTD needs to make the publishers always give the most recent version out.

Where can one find these custom syntax files I am up for switching from PSPad if this can also do SQR and PeopleCode, really I think the only thing I would want from this is Collapsable code. I might miss the hex editor too.
