For some reason it will not play audio when converting .mov files. I tried converting it to other formats and even to just a audio file, but will not work. When trying to convert to audio, it just tells me there might be insufficient space or rights to do so.

@70. I don't have a definite answer for your Q, but I think such companies may reproduce the video in the new HD format. Physically, the HD picture has more pixerls than the SD. To convert the SD to HD the program has to add the extra pixels. Smart programs will try to figure out the extra pixels, based on the existing pixels (at SD). It will never be the same quality as if it was created in HD from scratch.

If it was 'impossible' to convert SD to HD, then don't you think new releases of old things in HD would also be impossible and hence fraudulent? There are a lot of old movies, released before HD even existed, (The Lion King, etc, etc, etc) that are now being sold on blu-ray as HD... It's not impossible to convert, if you have the proper equipment. Although, I highly doubt a program like this would work nearly as well as the professional grade stuff that the big movie companies do.

I recently tried a similar program to this from another discount, giveaway site,at a better discount than what wonderfox are offering for their product, and you do see an improvement of quality if you zoom in, less pixelation. But apparenly this technology works best if there is more movement in a video,if it uses previous, next, frame to upscale.Though I have not tried this software as I don't need it, I would advise as some have earlier to turn off auto-update as wonderfox site say's this will update to the next version. Then you will lose it or have to buy it.

I just downloaded it and had a try, it works fine to convert my AVI files to MP4 till now. As for the SD to HD conversion, the best part of it is that I can change the parameter settings, resolution and aspect ratio freely, the high-quality output video can only be based on excellent original effect.

Installed and registered fine on Win 7 x64. As noted by other comments here, the default install location is Program files, not Program files (x86) which it should be since it is a x32 bit software. However, that is easy to remedy simply by typing in "(x86)".

I will say that it is nice to get a serial key for registration without having to share my email address and waiting for hours for a reply email which sometimes never arrives. So, thumbs up there.

The program opened with no problem after having to navigate to the installation folder and forcing an icon to be placed on the desktop even though there was a check placed in the box during the installation to place a shortcut on the desktop.

The software seems to be pretty good. However, I am not fond of the default output folders being located in program files. There is a reason that location is hidden by default by Windows. This may prove to be an issue for the average home user.

I would also like to see a frame by frame option when editing/clipping. The program lacks control features in that respect.

Program installed and registered fine on WIN7 32bit. I tried the upconvert feature on one episode of Falling Skies. It left me a 6.96 .avi file with the original video name. Original video was still intact, but, it appears the upconvert doesn't work. Surprise, surprise. Reformatting videos is a function that seems to work though.
Take it for what it's worth folks....

I love this converter! I had 2.0 from a Give-away years ago, converted over to an SSD with x64 and haven't had it, so glad it's back. It will convert just about anything and it is one of the very few converters that has a sharpen tool which I find to be very useful to improve the quality of some crappy videos, I usually convert all my wmvs to mp4. Wish it had drag and drop function and more of a choose of resolutions (it goes from 900 to 1500kps with nothing in between), but it works great. It's not the quickest, but the output quality is pretty good.
