To #98

When running setup file, it checks with GAOTD site using software informer and then unzips .msi file to default folder on the system. You can change that default folder. First locate that .msi file in your system or get it again by running setup in time and then run it by double clicking and you will get installation screen on which you will find get free serial button by clicking which you get registration link.

Installation folder for program can be changed as you like after you enter Product key and Serial No. Get the .msi file before giveaway period is over as afterward you can not get it and then install it. Some times you be able to register later also if you have .msi file.
Some email providers spam filter consider the mail from Paragon as spam and hence check with spam mail folder of your email.
Recovery CD ISO is self contained in softwareas full version and hence hence the installation file is huge else the software will be smaller by about 40 MB.
Very good for Windows XP versions and some of Vista versions. Has some trouble with Windows 7 because of its Partition andM boot sector And Master Boot Sector structure and when your system becomes unbootable due to old program files, use partition wizard boot CD from www.partitionwizard.com (always keep it handy for emergency as it has easy interface and simple options)to boot your system and recover lost or missing partitions which I had frequently done on Windows 7 as these old paragon tools are a pain to use on latest Windows OSes until they get newer Versions.
Always use some good download managers like Flashget or stardownloaderfree for downloading these kind of huge files like Paragon tools.

The one thing I really HATE about Paragon is their requiring you to give out your email address so you're subjected to even more advertising & junk in email. I almost never check my email except when forced to, precisely because I hate hate hate having to wade through all the advertising stuff that comes because of having to give my email addy.

Why can't they just provide the reg key in the readme without having to have my email address?

If signing up for the free serial codes needed to complete installation DO NOT use a Yahoo mail addy. I waited 45 minutes there, then 45 seconds when I went back and used a gmail addy!

Thanks to both GAOTD and Paragon, even though I cannot get the program to install (and I always read the readme file and follow the instructions).

It took about about 10 minutes to download with my cable connection, which is not a problem.

I unzipped the download, read the "readme", clicked on "Setup", and found the 'msi' file. After activating it, I progressed to the registration screen and clicked on "Get free serial".

It took over 30 minutes to get my email with the product key and serial number. Again, not a problem.

Now for the problem: I followed the instructions in the email and used ctrl-c and ctrl-v to copy and paste the product key and serial number, taking care to make certain that there were no leading or following spaces.

Now for the problem: A message popped up stating that the serial number was invalid.

I tried copying and pasting again, no change; unzipping the download again and starting over; no change, and finally starting all over with a new download. Midnight was approaching, and I could not get it to download again. :>((

Recognizing that Murphy's law can never be invalidated, I'm still a tad frustrated. I would really like to have this in my computer.
Oh, well....

Incidentally, "tad" is scientific notation for "pretty much". :>)

Followup to previous report... I tried to start defrag on the x64 Vista installation and apparently Paragon will not just ignore open files -- it requires a reboot so it can defrag those files before loading the OS... HOWEVER, it has the reboot messed up and again tries to load from a floppy in A: until a power restart and the little DOS-text menu to select either A: or the hard drive -- select the HD and the boot continues without any defrag action. maybe the other features in the Suite will work better.
