You can always turn them on with a shortcut, scan, then turn them off.

Downloaded and installed quickly and registered easily on Win 7x64. Ran the program, after adding certain programs to the Exclusion List. Then I closed the program, and ran all my AV and Malware programs, full scan - heuristic. Nothing found. Then I made a full image just in case, and a backup.

GridinSoft Anti-malware, full scan, heuristic mode found tons of stuff! Scan took a long time, on a 1gig disk, 3/4 full. Many False Positives and some suspected, and some surprise files. Many more items to add to the exclusion list. (IE): app data/uninstall files, many HKCU registry items. So it will take a while to get everything right. I would like to see a link in the program straight to Virus Total, so I could double check some False Positives I'm not sure about. The program does a very through scan. Found everything, and then some. Thank you for this fantastic program, GridinSoft and GOTD. A great addition to my arsenal against the PC-MoMos.

I never use any protection on my home computer. Downloaded GridinSoft Anti-Malware, it was in scanning process even before I put in Registration key. It came up with 87 Adware/Malware/Trojan, some I have encountered while cleaning other computers and didn't know were hiding on my computer.
I find it fast and easy, especially like the Create Restore checkbox before initiating quarantine/removal. Every file is clearly shown with various choices from drop-down menu for each item. I also appreciate the many software settings available to choose for how the program starts, scans and works. I'm keeping this and looking forward to testing further and follow improvements so I can suggest to my clients.
Thank you GOTD, and GridinSoft for your great support you have shown us today!

Great program. Installation : POC (Piece Of Cake)
Ran it, and it found bad stuff that others didn't find.
Agree, you have to be very careful to delete or quarantine things. There's quite some false positives.
Therefor, it would be great that a click on the found threats, would fire up e.g. Google to get more info about the threat, helping you decide what to do.

There's an option where you can make the program NOT to autostart... It WON'T add processes and WON'T slow down your PC...

Found a file that had NOT been found by Malware Bytes, Spybot, AdwCleaner, JRT, Mbar, Combofix ... all the usual suspects. Looks like the rest were false positives. I didn't take the time to for more research. I'll do it next time or when I have more time.

The application's right click/context menu needs to 1) offer to open the file location AND 2) search for the file name online. It's too labor intensive to navigate to the file for checking and/or research the file online.

Some of my downloaded and "saved for maybe later" programs were flagged. Since I got a "heads up", I know I'll have to do further research if I want to use one of those programs.

Thank you Gridinsoft. GridinSoft Anti-Malware 3.0 will definitely be a part of my overall security setup - especially when I have a bit more time to work with it.

Avoid this crapware like the plague! It will flag a large majority of legitimate files as malware even though they aren't malware. I did a full scan just to test this out and it was flagging programs such andy android os as well as files downloaded from sites like majorgeeks.com

This is a bloomin' joke. I keep a clean system and I was trying it out. I kept hearing beep beep. I looked at the scan and it was detecting Andy as adware. Andy is an Android app virtual device. I removed the POS instantly. Stay away. This can be a dangerous piece of software if you let it remove what it 'finds'.

Thanks for the program :)

It works fine om windows 10 and found malware that I suspected but all other could not find . the only thing is I hate programs that add context menu items without the option to disable them . why every company inists on making very long context menu items like "scan withe Gridinsoft Anti-Malware " lol is beyond me.yup I really want my context menus to be one and a half inches wide !

An icon and Scan Now is more than enough as we already know what program it is by the icon.but please have an option to disable the context menus at least.

that said great giveaway many thanks :)

GridinSoft Anti-Malware 3.0 is best approached with a great sense of humor.
The number and type of false positives is an experience to behold.

For example ...
All Scheduled Tasks are considered Suspicious.
(including my self authored reminders to "take out the dog").

The autostart of ..\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe was considered Suspicious
as were most of the other autostarts and many of my own BATch files.

Perhaps the most amusing find was the big red "Trojan.PL.Gen.Bot"
warning for my C:\autorun.inf. This 2 line text file contains...

[autorun]
ICON=MediaCenter2.ico

(used only to replace the generic Disc icon of Drive C:)

I don't mind a good laugh, now and then, but I feel sorry for inexperienced
users that may take this application's suggestions seriously. A copious
amount of common sense is require here. If in doubt, call a nerd before
pressing the "Do It" button.

Since the registration requires Internet Explorer's Scrip handler, and since
my poor little outdated XP-SP3 crashed EIGHT times while fighting off Script
Errors, I was unable to get my license. In a subsequent email...

Dear Customer,
To recieve [sic: receive] a free license key, please, please resend us your
full name, country, gender and age.

... which I did two and a half hours ago but have received nothing back.
I hope that I will hear from GridinSoft before my sense of humor runs out.

Smiles,
Peter

This program uses a part of Internet Explorer for the form to get a code.
And for some reasons sometimes this goes wrong. (a digit in the name?)
If so, go to
http://gridinsoft.com/giveawayoftheday/index.php
And fill in the form.

Also I did read "It took nearly an hour to get them all out of quarantine."
After the scan there is a pause; here you have options what to do with the results:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4vepsm3euot9t5u/ActieKeuze.png?dl=0
I also did scan removable drives:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qoz4uowzy4e4fer/USB-Scan.png?dl=0
and I choose not to remove anything.
Now it is my responsibility.

You should consider something TallEmu did years ago when developing Online Armor firewall and HIPS style software. They added an option during the install to trust all software at the time of install. This was for experienced users as they most often knew their systems very well and it was meant more to catch things coming in after install. If you added this option and also the ability of the software to upload hashes for the software installed and any other identifiers you could build yourself a good cloud database of probably safe software which could be white listed or grey listed as likely safe so you don't bother the users as much. These small changes could much improve your software. I will look next time it's offered to see if the changes have been made.

Hi Leland, hear hear. Makes you wonder what outlandish new finds can the whole (long) year of each License bring to database of such Programs as this Giveaway to be regarded as 'dangerous and suspicious':).. This approach of 'better to be safe than sorry' can indeed lead to amusing discoveries for each Licensee.. But, if treated with greatest care and attention to detail - it might catch a monkey or two?

Dl and install no problem. Registering has un necessary questions but got it done. I uninstalled it as it found literall dozens of false positives on my software (Glary Utilities, 360 security, my Nvidia driver (!), Ccleaner, many more, and EVERY one of my games- all legitimate!) and even some of my MS updates! It took nearly an hour to get them all out of quarantine. I run defender and 360 Security which, besides having 360 cloud anti virus protection, also contains Avira and Malwarebites, which never have given me false positives, This is dangerous software and can seiously damage your system! To find Nvidia's driver as a virus is ridiculous! Caveat emptor.

Picked up a tojan- I was able to put it and Kerish Doc in ignor list. It also worked with my windows defender- whereas the Idoo from previous giveaway did not play nice with Defender. Hello Gridinsoft Team and Giveawayoftheday Team,

first of all many thanks for you to enable us to use this software for a year free.
As I can remember I have used the Gridinsoft Notepad many times which was a excellent software, too from the same company.

I have installed and registered Gridinsoft Antimalware without any problems. After the first scan Antimalware has found some Adware.FPL.Gen.se adwares, but also alarmed me because of the next softwares, too (suspicious autostart): Unhackme, Hard Disk Sentinel, Kerish Doctor, USB Safely Remove, Wisecare 365.
The last 4 softwares were offered also by Giveawayoftheday. I would like to suggest to Gridinsoft Team to consider to remove these false positives. Each of these 4 softwares are great and useful products without any harm. Of course, with their autostart the starting process of the Windows may be slower, but I think using them has much more advantage. Many thanks once again for both Teams.

I found this program very simple to operate. Some of the fonts could be in a darker colour. The RESTORE POINT is kind of hidden and should be more visible. It was also very fast - I look forward to seeing if there are any differences between the major program and this one. Thanks for the opportunity to test.

Dealing with Malware usually requires 3 -5 programs to scan and search. This is a legitimate tool to put in your security arsenal. It gives a helpful estimate on when it will complete. The interface isn't bad but the final list to clean, after the app ends the search, may need some tweaks. There may be some false positives, so research them.

Other apps I use to keep my 'puter clean are: (ADWcleaner, combofix, malwarebytes, Avira, RKill, mcAfee Stinger)

Mr RUBENKING from PCMAG, who is one of the best PC security experts around, gave a very poor score about your previous product (Trojan Killer):

http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2486334,00.asp

So the question is: what kind of improvements have you done, compared to the previous version of this program?

– improved cloud scanning.

I thought I would give this a try, however, I use Malwarebytes which has served me quite well. Downloaded and registered quite easily on Win 7 Pro-64 bit PC.
The software found many items, but all were valid existing programs, such as Panda Security, Driver Genius, Storm Predator and VWS (Weather Station). It didn't find any malware which means Malwarebytes is doing its job!
The program was fast, though, and I'll keep it for now. Thanx GOTD and Gridinsoft!

Installed and registered easily. Ran a scan. Among 61 items, it also flagged my Auslogic defragmenter, Karens Replicator, Iobit Antimalware, Network Meter, Freemake Video Downloader, Winja Antimalware, Core Temp Processor Monitor, and Dual Boot Repair programs. This is far too aggressive for me. Thank you for the opportunity but I think I will pass.

Hi, this is a bit unusual, but I'm trying to help someone called 'abu', whose comment was in Polish and is now deleted. The user said 'I installed the program but now I'm lost and don't know where to find activation key'..

So my answer to Abu is what can be found in Readme text: 'To activate your free copy please fill in the registration form, which appears after installation. Then check your e-mail for registration key. Use the key to complete the activation procedure',
and translated to Polish (if still of interest) it would be:

'Aby aktywowac ten darmowy program - prosimy wypelnic okienko rejestracji, ktore ukaze sie po zainstalowaniu programu. Nastepnie prosimy sprawdzic poczte e-mailowa (z przeslanym kluczem) i zastosowac go by dokonczyc procedure aktywowania programu'

As this Page is mainly for English speaking (and understanding) users - Comments in different languages are not commonly understood or helpful to others, therefore either down-voted, or deleted. I'm doing this as an exception on this Site seeing a genuine request, however on sister Site GGOTD - we see from time to time Comments in different languages and WR (Whiterabbit-uk) always takes an effort to answer them in native 'lingo' to make them feel welcome. Hope it helps.

This is Anti-Malware software, yet you don't add publisher into setup.exe. My windows 8.1 give me a warning to run setup.exe due to unknown publisher. False positive i know, but why not to add publisher?

jermin, we think that this is the Giveawayoftheday special trait because we have a publisher added to our installer. You can check it on our website.

Installed, registered without problem. Run the program, however it detected my other antispyware program Idoo Antispyware and quarantine 3 of the files which i need to run the program. How is that possible to detect other program files and send to quarantine. Lucky its quarantine which i can restore. If delete straight away, I wouldn't be able to restore it.

Michael Guan, we don't recommend to use Idoo Antispyware, please see the scan of this program results by many popular antiviruses: https://www.virustotal.com/file/1a925f9658e276e8986f689d6bc55a82e54b0ba86461b32bf545e3bce1b5b79c/analysis/

When I read GridinSoft,it sounds familiar and after I saw user interface,I remembered that I have this product (not for a long) but under different name.Trojan remover or Trojan Killer.Generally this is the same product under the new name. This software gained one of the lowest score in all major tests, something like Windows defender.Maybe this version is improved, but after all those false positives I gave up.I'm supporting small software companies, and I'm buying their products rather then from some major ''players''.BUT,only when their software is decent. At this point GridinSoft Anti-Malware is far behind good and reliable solution against malware.I hope that Gridinsoft will continue to improve this product.

I am referring this one to my IT savvy friend for his opinion (this type of program is difficult to tell if it works or not, since you are looking for something that DOESN'T happen instead of something that does, i.e. malware infestation). I need to install it on my Windows XP computer that I cannot afford to replace yet. Many of the "name brand" antivirus programs no longer support or will soon cease support for Windows XP, so this looks like a good potential.

Bebop,
You could download : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and give that one a try of 15 day's:

Bebop, it's pointless to install Anti-Malware software on an outdated OS like XP which contains compromised outdated encryption scheme. Also includes many vulnerabilities that are unpatched and unsupported. Unless you know what you're doing and limit access away from the internet then you can continue to use it otherwise upgrade to Windows 7 or 10.

Bebop, GridinSoft Anti-Malware is compatible with Windows XP, so please feel free to try it.

Reply   |   Comment by GridinSoft LLC  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+6)

Bebop, you could also go to the site distrowatch and download a free Linux live usb/dvd and try it out. You don't have to install it, just run it from the computers system ram. If you like it, install it. There are several Linux versions that run well, better, on older systems. I suggest trying Mint or PCLinuxOS. That is unless you have to use the computer with software that is only Windows compatible.

I enjoyed my Windows XP but unfortunately it is completely compromised now. Every line of code has been put on the dark web. It can no longer be protected because it is easy to write malware that is one of a kind to infect a system running XP. Even the boot password, no matter how long, can now be recovered in seconds.

s stated in my other comment, it not only runs 3 different engines, it will install- intelligently!- MS updates that win updater hangs up on, and also ignores what you do not need!

Reply   |   Comment by Mike Od  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Glen C,
Every line of code has been put on the dark web
If you believe that you'll believe anything; WordPerfect source code, when it was posted, was 17 million lines of code. XP is many thousands of times larger than that and the level of complexity would be beyond all but a few.

Hackers like to cause the most damage and so there's not much point in going with the small remaining audience that use XP, Windows 7 would be much more fun.

Installed and registered without a hitch. Nice clear layout, plenty of info without cluttering the GUI. After running a quick scan a whole pile of PUPs were found that had been missed by Spy Bot Search and Destroy and the irony of it is that all the malware found were from the GOTD give away of Express Uninstall from 29/05/2016, which came as a bit of a surprise and yes they were genuine positives, I checked before taking any action. This is a keeper and bye-bye Spybot!

I am getting an error while registering in Winxp and Win7 (32bit).
I too have high hopes, but the dam error says, "an error has occured in the script on this page". Maybe the developer used 64 bit pc while writing this software.
So, i can get past this, i havn't received my key to activate.
What do i do.

momo, I am running Win10 64-bit, which it does not indicate will, or will NOT work, so I assume it should work -- because as I understand it, even 32-bit should run on 64-bit, although not the other way around.

However, I just got a message saying the software won't work on my machine! I have never heard of that before! This is not a Mac -- this is a PC...

So -- what is wrong???

GridinSoft Tech Expert, Thank you team, i was able to contact the support team, although it was not prompt, they sent me a serial key after 30 min time. Which is lot better then no sending at all.
I like the program, its a keeper for me.

Reply   |   Comment by momo  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Tranmontane, the setup installs fine. But when i open the program, there is a prompt to enter user name and email id, which i presume is a script that prompts a user-back by giving a serial.
Its only during that period, i had problems. But that has been solved, the support team provided me with a serial.
Also i would like to bring to user notice, it shows quite a few number of false positive, just detected orbit downloader.dll as a malware. Which i restored it.
Besides that everything is fine.
Only time will tell, how good it is as a anti malware.

chad, we are here to give you the opportunity to test our product by your own and share your suggestions. We will be glad to improve GridinSoft Anti-Malware for our customers.

chad, I just ran a quick Google search for "GridinSoft Anti-Malware 3.0 review" and the first two I saw were CNET, which had a user rating of 4/5 (204 votes) and Softpedia which had a user rating of 4.5/5 (324 votes). The CNET review page was a little dated (11/2014) but the Softpedia review was from 5/30/16.

Reply   |   Comment by Dansx6  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+10)

chad, The company is coming here to give their product away and learn how to improve it. Sure it's not the best, none find everything. I bet it's better than the average free anti-malware software. If I didn't have what I have already, I'd give it a shot.

Reply   |   Comment by Glen C  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Dansx6, Interesting observation. I copied and pasted the same Google search. CNET and Softpedia were results two and four, with links to two You Tube videos as three and four.
The rest if the page results were:
5. This site
6. Home - Gridinsoft Anti-malware (Web Of Trust Unsatisfactory Rating)
7. GridinSoft Anti-Malware 3.0.37 - FindMySoft.com (WOT Poor Rating)
8. GridinSoft Anti-Malware 3.0.37 Review & Alternatives - Free trial ... (WOTUnsatisfactory Rating)
9. GridinSoft Anti-Malware 3.0.36 - Free download (WOTUnsatisfactory Rating)
10. GridinSoft Trojan Killer Review & Rating | PCMag.com

Since I personally don't like either CNET or Softpedia and I don't click on links without a Web Of Trust Excellent or Good Rating, the only link I checked on page one of Google Search was PC Magazine which rated it 1.5 out of 5.

I didn't bother with a Google Search page 2

Reply   |   Comment by Tiny  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-3)

Tiny,
Not to drag this out but CNET and Softpedia are fairly respected sites and both had significant numbers of ratings. Chad's comment was that this software is "very poorly rated on numerous sites". You have cited one with a 1.5 rating which isn't numerous. Why not try it first? It is free here today :-)

Elegant program all round ! ..... Downloaded and installed on Windows 10 64 Bit without any issues .....Registration process clear and precise and activated without any problems !

Very clean user interface with plenty of " config options " Rapid scanning process ...but extremely thorough !
Very happy with overall performance and highly likely that I will purchase this software after further trial .....
Scan picked up items that Malwarebytes had missed ....and the scan has not interfered with my BitDefender Security or any other running processes ...

One caveat though ...... The scan picked up on legitimate software and "flagged " it as Malware ...In my case ..this was Stardocks' legitimate "Object Desktop " component .... this was easily circumvented by selecting " Ignore " and therefore preventing unwanted removal!
...Users should pay particular attention to the scan results and select accordingly ...Don't just "Quarantine " without checking
Just bear this in mind when looking at your results after scanning !
Maybe an alternative "darker skin theme " wouldalso be worth the developers considering ..That being said ....Thank you GridinSoft and GAOTD for a great offer ...:-)

Quarantine is OK, as long as the program continuously scans the vault and releases again what turns out to have been quarantined wrongly.
