Wll, this remark is late, but I change my comment of #10. For the company in the person of John Carricaburu send me many e-mails to solve the problem, why the program didn't work on my computer. We found out the problem was the use of 2 routers instead of one. But also for that problem there came a solution. Absolutely great, how this company helps to solve your problem! And now the program works, it's very useful. So now in a scale from 0-10 I give the program (and it's company!!) 10 points.

@85: Thank you for the helpful hint - although I may not install the software today, I found a way to change the language to default (english):
- run regedit
- go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ShalSoft\GigaTribe\kernel
- change "LangId" to 1
- start GigTribe, register
- change back the LangId to the value before

I downloaded the program with the idea of using it for graphic and script file exchanges in a PaintShop Pro learning group of 30. I am behind a router & Error 17 popped up right out of the gate - but the error message came with a button linked to GigaTribe's help page about the problem. I read the help files relating to the error, followed the link to http://www.portforward.com/routers and methodically followed the instructions to select my router, then choose the program called 'Tribalweb' - I worked slowly and methodically thru each screen and inside of ten minutes, I was connected and hustling to find the tab to accept invitations from waiting friends.

For what it's worth, the Gigatribe's and portforward.com's help files are what made a believer out of me. The instructions were easy to understand and lined out in the order each task needed to be done. Ample screenshots made it easy to stay on track. I was never left wondering if I was plumb stupid or if the help files were written by babboons. When a software company puts that much effort into the help files, you can bet they take pride in all areas of their work and you are getting a good product.

Gigatribe is light, attractive to look at. Easy to use.

Thank you.

After a rocky first run this morning, I was able to get it working tonight after work. I am not a tech, nor do I play one on TV and the help at GigaTribe's website walked me through the process of setting up a static IP and then convincing the router to handle the port issue.

GOTD - Keep up the good work.
John (giga) - Because of your customer service skills I will have no hesitation about buying a program from your company if a need arises in the future. You also make it very easy to recommend it to friends, many of whom have even less technical skill than I do.

This pro would be wonderful if it allowed the download and upload speed to 100+ kbs/s. My friend and me tried this, it only allowed 48-50 Kbs/s transfering files, that's pretty slow (for me). Anybody has anyidea about how to speed it up?

I've not downloaded today's giveaway, but I'd still like to make a comment.

#63, #69, #70 - These people didn't sound like they have downloaded the program and gave it a try before making any comment. Who are these people? competitors of GigaTribe or GOTD?

It's useless!
I can't use it cause I'm behind NAT.
If could use port redirecting, I'd rather set my own file server.
