Music on Monroe Band leader Ray Anthony composed "My Marilyn" and performed it for Monroe at a special event following the production of Niagara in 1952. "Marilyn Monroe Mambo" was a song and variation on the Mambo dance in the 1950s. In 1973, Sir Elton John recorded "Candle in the Wind" on his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album as a tribute to Monroe.
