yPlay is an MP3 player with multiple playlists and a clean interface. I find too many music players have tiny, ambiguous controls and overly complicated menu structures. I'm only interested in how quickly I can find and play a particular track or set of favourite songs. yPlay has a filter built into the main screen - type in part of the MP3 title or artist and the list will only display matching tracks. Double-click the track you want, close the player to the system tray and forget about it.
If you've ever lent something only to lose it forever (A book, a DVD, tools from the garage and so on) then yLend is for you. You can add a loan in seconds: enter name, item and date and the loan is permanently recorded. When the item comes back, delete the entry!
yWriter is a free novel writing program for authors. It allows you to break your novel into chapters and scenes within chapters. You can reorder scenes using drag and drop, and you can print out a number of reports (summary, synopsis, scene list, work schedule). Gives you a running word count per scene and chapter, and the built-in editor auto-saves your work.
yRead will load a plain text (TXT) or HTML file and display it in a single-column, resizable window. Then it will read the file to you out loud, using human speech.
