Transylmania 1 & 2 (T2 2.9Mb)
These are flash online games with you playing as Vampy the vampire, and the usual remit; - to ‘bite’ as many victims as possible per level, while avoiding many of the usual vampire hazards, such as fire, water, spikes and sunlight; and of course villagers determined to catch, and terminate you! You have to return to the coffin before daybreak (ie time running out) on each level.
After posting quite a few games recently with lengthy and deep gameplay, I thought I’d post some casual games for a bit of ‘light’ relief. That said, this particular game has had some fairly rave reviews recently! You play the role of Vampy, a sweet-natured vampire whose castle is under siege. And - ‘Oh Dear!’ those ‘poor’ people are keeping you from sleeping!
The graphics are cute and funny, and gameplay is decidedly good, with the villagers often suddenly changing direction, and Vampy’s flight being somewhat erratic, which all add to the fun! There are also hidden skeletons that can ‘bounce’ Vampy onto hazards. Your health is restored on each new level after a good night’s rest! The music is apt and amusing too. To turn the villagers into the undead, either sneak up behind one or land on his head. You have to vanquish all of the intruding villagers by changing them to walking dead, mindless ‘undead’ servants, on each level before the coffin opens for you to find safety before daybreak.
Villagers carry torches, which along with chandeliers and candles need to be avoided, which is why you attack them from behind! Don't worry. The death sequence isn't gory at all. The 'recently deceased' turn into green, zombie-like characters, then fall into a little pile of bones and disappear. Believe it or not, it's adorable!
His home has many rooms and levels, including the windmill and cemetery. Sunlight is sometimes let in through windows that open and close in a timed pattern - Beware of windows that might fling open at any instant! Water, whether in the river or rhythmically pouring through ducts, is another hazard that must be navigated around. In some areas, there are wooden spikes that must also be avoided. Villagers can also be found in boats on the river. If even just one villager is left alive, you can’t complete the level, and rest until the next sunset!
Transylmania 1 came out in 2005, and is quite widely available to play online, search for “Transylmania online game -2” in Google for a list of sites to play Transylmania 1 online. It won’t play off-line (even if you use a download helper), which is no doubt why there isn’t a download link on any of the sites! I recommend as one example site to play online (It also plays nearly full-screen using this link) HERE - * - (some online sites have an earlier less-detailed version using the ’a,w,d ‘keys).
‘Arrow’ keys to move L/R, ‘Up’ arrow to turn into a bat and fly, and spacebar to jump. You have 7 lives per level.
Transylmania 2 is available to play online, again on a number of websites but is a very recently out game. It is presently available to download the .swf file directly, to play off-line - from the Minigames website. By the nature of online flash games, I can’t guarantee how long Minigames will keep the download facility for this particular game! As for TSM 1, you can play TRM 2 online nearly full-screen HERE - * -
Transylmania 2 adds a sidekick to the count’s repertoire (using the spacebar), ‘Arrow’ keys to move L/R, ‘Up’ arrow to fly as before, crouch using the ’down’ arrow key; and there are four key clue items to collect per screen as well as biting and defeating all of the villagers, just to complicate matters! Some villagers have helmets, making them more difficult to attack. This time the ‘evil’ doctor has stolen Vampy’s much adored little green teddy bear and you have to use clues to find the doctor and reclaim it before something really bad happens to it! Watch out for the Vamp blood-sucking monsters too! And villagers shooting fire arrows!
Transylmania 2 has cut scenes and a much more developed storyline, also has a code restart for when you have completed levels.
They are both flash games that are great fun to play - and play very well! Transylmania 2 has some really good solid (and humorous) gameplay! Each game has a good number of levels to play through, some of which are none too easy to complete!
