Your problem has been reported a number of times and, AFAIK, there has never been a resolution. If you want to take a shot at fixing the issue then first make a back-up of your system so you won't be any worse off than you are now.
Try installing today's giveaway after each of these steps, maybe you'll find the answer:
- Clear your browser cache/cookies.
- If you're running IE then try resetting it to its default installed state (Tools | Internet Options | Advanced then Reset at the bottom of the box)
- Try a different browser
- Download and run Ccleaner. Run both the main cleaner and the registry cleaner (save the registry entries).
- Try this MS tool: Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled
- Try the older version of the tool: Windows Installer Cleanup UtilityIf none of the above works then you've got trouble in River City. Since you were last able to install a giveaway either you or an auto-updating program installed something that's causing your issue. It could be the latest Firefox or Thunderbird update (if you use them), if could be a Windows Update, or it could be a simple update to a program that you never use (and it's why I no longer allow any auto-updates). You can use the Windows Install/Uninstall routine to determine when you last successfully installed a GOTD program (the GOTD page gives links to prior giveaways) by sorting on the "Installed On" column and reviewing the list for programs/updates added after the last successful installation. Then it's a "simple" matter of uninstalling everything added since the last successful installation and testing the latest download as you go. However, if the installation date wasn't modified when the program updated then you'll never find it.
Start with the MS Updates, they're a frequent source of difficulty. Or, just wait. There's a fair chance that the issue will ultimately resolve itself with a future update.

What if your issue is really a hardware problem? The GOTD installation process is very hardware intensive, what if you've got a memory module that's starting to fail? I can certainly envision that a failing ECC module, which is no longer "Error Checking and Correcting", could result in a "corrupted file" message. We generally assume that the "it worked yesterday but not today" problem is a software issue because hardware failures are usually "all or nothing". But if your hardware is starting to fail then that may be a horse of a different color.
Your PC's manufacturer should have provided some diagnostics so you might want to run them. On Vista and Windows 7 you can access the Windows Memory Diagnostic by typing "memory" in the search box and then following the instructions (note - it requires a reboot).
For a more extensive test you can download the free "lite" version of Hot CPU Tester. It doesn't require a reboot but it takes 6 hours to complete so you'd want to run it overnight. If the test completes without errors then your hardware should be OK.

This is a comment I posted for one of the games:
"I have also downloaded the zip file when I tried to install the setup file, I got an error message saying the file was corrupt. I tried extracting using 7zip, winrar, and winzip, but none of them made a difference. I then tried restarting my computer in “safe mode with networking” > extracted the files > and then I was able to successfully install the game."
