Defragmenter

I would like to see a defragmenter offered that runs automatically like the Ashampoo Magical Defrag program. Windows takes forever to finish, plus you have to stop everything you are doing first.
I've tried a couple of free ones but they didn't seem to work very well. I tried the Ashampoo one and it was pretty good.
Ashampoo may be a good option because they do give away quite a lot of stuff.

    So hows about it GAOTD

  2. Diskeeper ProPremier v11.0.698.0 is what I use, windows defragment utility is mustard also.

I have used Diskeeper since version 5, only others I have tried are windows and Nortons version on system works.

It would be nice that when Diskeeper 12 comes around that yes GAOTD could give away the ProPremier version.

    I doubt it though.

  3. I would love to see PerfectDisk 8 Professional offered.

In my opinion it performs better (and faster) than any other Windows defragmenter software.

Download comparisons, whitepapers, and a 30 day free trial.

I used to use Executive Softwares Diskeeper back on WinNT 3.51 & then WinNT 4.0 - But changed to PerfectDisk back when version 6 was released - this explains some of the reasons why...

I use O&O Defrag Pro, another good defragger, US$49.95.

Anyone know of a GOOD free one. I resent paying for stuff that M$ supposedly already does - and that we paid for with the OS. ;)

I use Auslogics Disk defrag program, which is freeware and seems to work pretty well. It doesn't do the defrag automatically, but it is pretty fast. I hated waiting for the Windows defrag program to finish, that's for sure.

TY for the diskeeper 2007 pro premier link... just ran the free trial and it's great! Much better than Windows defrag... (which I just ran a few days ago - in fact I ran it 3 times consecutively and all tolled it barely made a difference)

    Update:
I have been using the diskeeper lite mentoned above and am very happy with it. I would re-recommend this to anyone looking for a decent defragger.

Thanks to all who pointed me at it. :)
