You can probably get most games (freeware and otherwise) to support game controllers using Xpadder.
Play PC games with poor or no gamepad support.
Add gamepad support to emulated, internet and DOS games.
Play multiplayer games with each player using their own gamepad.
Control video/music players using their shortcut keys.
Use a gamepad with a web browser or any windows application.
No installation needed - run straight from the Zip file.

Well I can only make comments on the program description on the website, as I don't have a game controller, and have not actually used the software.
I believe your game controller becomes a customisable keyboard substitute - so if a game or program supports the keyboard, you can configure Xpadder to make your controller like a keyboard.
I'm sure once you try it - things will be clearer. They also have a forum and email support - you could ask the developer.

WOAH. Nice link Bubby. I've been looking for one of these for a while. I even went as far as buying a controller that included keyboard emulation, but it was only for the <enter> and <esc> keys. But of course when I looked at some of the download mirrors at your link, I realized one of them was www.majorgeeks.com . I'm there all the time. I shoulda looked closer through the files (but they do have alot to comb through). Thx.
