I know there are other topics identical to this but I am not getting it! I believe my Windows Firewall is off. Norton is not working for me right now, so i'll fix that soon. And i'm running as admins...even though I am the only one who has an account on my computer. :P The setup works fine, but I can't activate it. What can I do?
"Failed to connect. Please try again later" still don't get it :(

I have been getting the same thing for hours. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling -- same thing.
I really not happy about this -- I had version 2.0 from a while back and loved it. Now this won't activate so I now have nothing.
My daughter installed on her computer and it worked fine. Our computers are identical and are running the same security programs on the same network.

Hi, try going to one of the GOTD international download sites (i.e., French, Italian, etc.) - sometimes these alternative sites work better than the USA site. I've tried these many times, and they've worked well for me. The program on these international sites is also in English, so you should be able to read and understand all of the text during the download and installation process. Hope this helps.

1. The problem was posted 2 weeks ago (with no followup since)
2. The problem was running activate.exe. Both users reported they could download and setup without any issues. They just couldn't connect to run Activate.exe
Usually this is a problem with the firewall. Sometimes when prompted to connect - users accidentally block the connection attempt. Check the firewall rules and logs to make sure you are not blocking a connection attempt.
Another solution that came up once, the user had (in Internet Explorer) selected File->Work Offline. Unselecting "Work Offline" fixed the issue immediately.
If possible try to run activate from a second PC running from the same network (to rule out general network issues, as opposed to network issues on a specific PC).

Firewall off = Block All Mode on most Firewall's, tick Display Balloon Messages, so the firewall will say activate is trying to get out, say yes, may no work fist time but next time be ok, try game mode may help, or Training Mode.
