Giveaway of the Day Forums

   Starting from just a couple of weeks ago (I've been registered for over a year) I've started getting text msgs on my mobile phone telling me of each day's GOTD giveaway, but I don't require these as I have daily browser reminders anyway.

   I'm not aware of having changed my profile recently and I just can't find anywhere within my profile to turn these msgs off or where I have given my phone number; can someone please tell me where the settings are located?

   Thanks in advance and apologies if it's so obvious if it's staring me in the face.

   Hi, Spodo,
   never heard about a phone message.
   Is it possible, that you are on GOTD's email list and your email account informs you about the incoming message? Or your RSS feed reader? Or twitter? Or Facebook?
   Twitter and especially Facebook can be really annoying with notifications when you haven't found the right buttons to opt-out.
   Don't know the actual reason, and I don't use my mobile phone anymore, just trying to help thinking - LOL

   You may also have signed up with GOTD's email list using your phone's email address.

   Thanks for the replies; I don't get emails on my phone so that can't be it BUT thanks notblocklox for mentioning Twitter because I am following mqotd which provides the gotd updates and somehow the update by phone option has been turned on.

   So I've now disabled that and hopefully should discover in the next couple of hours that those msgs are no longer being received.
