   When I try to install a SW from GAOTD i get the message "failed to connect,try again later".
   I've read lots of threads on the forum but i've found no solution to my problem...
   I hope you can help me...

   I've Vista and I tried to run it as admin,nothing.
   IE is online,I downloaded the zip file from there...
   I tried to do C:\>ping 208.109.86.65 [it's the GOTD's server,if i've not misunderstood...]and i get 4 replies,so the server is not busy...
   I don't understand the things about "proxy",so i don't know if the problem is there...

   if you need more information please ask...

   You'll find many, many postings of this very problem, but no solution that works.

   It happens to me also, but only on one of my 4 computers. There's no variables between them that explains it. It's not a download issue, since all 4 of my computers download just fine. if I take a download from one and try it on the problem computer, it's the same story. Just won't connect to the key-checking server of giveawayoftheday.

   Just thought I'd let you know not to beat your head against a wall and mess with proxy stuff, etc: it won't solve it. your computer logs in to their servers and downloads fine, right? it's just at the activation that connection can't be made. Some screwy error of theirs and no one bothers to investigate, because they make plenty of money serving the majority for whom it DOES work.

   Have you tried rebooting your router (if you have one) and your modem. That usuallysolves most connection errors; also clearing out your internet cache may help. (and could be the reason your fourth computer won't activate Bigmutt). Often a cookie becomes corrupted and can lead to error messages. I hope one of these 'fixes' works for you apetta88. :) I've had the same problem and doing the above did fix it.

   to Bigmutt, the error is usually at the users end not the Giveaway side. If it's working on three of your four computers it's got to be the fourth computer that's at fault not the giveaway servers.

   already done: cache cleaned,router rebooted...
   and today is not the first time it happens...
   It's not working since Activation and setup are in the same .exe

   you are not new to GOTD, is this the first time you can't activate?
   If yes, what did you change in your routine?
   I see, you have already read all the tricks and possible factors, I'm afraid there is no perfect solution for this problem. Every system is unique. In any case the things about "proxy" are important! You should try to find out if you have a proxi.
   Then check your firewall and your security software and make a rule for GOTD, though I would never disable the security.
   Did you enable the "right-click-administrator"? Sometimes it's not enough just to be administrator.
   For problems with Paragon programmes there can be another solution, as we have seen with previously supplied Paragon giveaways, go to the Paragon site:

   i've asked to my father,i've no proxy...
   I've added the rule in Windows firewall.
   i don't know how to enable "right click admn"

   You find the "right-click-admin" in the context menu:
   right click on the setup or activate.exe and search "Run as administrator" or something like that in Italian (I have a German system, but I think it'll look similar in every language; you will find it).
   Some programmes need these higher rights, there is no rule of thumb, sometimes I have to install, activate and start the programme with the right-click-admin, other programmes are happy with just one right-click.
   Did anybody say that computers are logical beings? :)
