my main computer ate something, and a fall took my right arm down the same morning, so won't be checking often- busy recovering drive packs and checking hardware when the pain allows.
got my email up on my laptop, but I'm gonna be pretty limited otherwise for a while. ow.
it may take a while to get the bugs
out.

only seemed fair. real s**ky- just added a sata adapter card and a half terabyte of sata drive, and just finished recovering as much data as possible off my failing cd-r's- to, of course, the new drive-
I'm trying to figure the chicken-egg logic, since so far I've found at least 3 failures- cmos values running cpu and memory at half speed, progressive corruption of the boot files, and funky partitioning of the sata drive by the last paragon giveaway. aaaargh!
the arm I actually fell on 3 times, each at a different angle. I can't lift a liter of water with that hand yet. happened monday around 1 am.

one mystery seems solved (unproven, but appears right)- I actually ran down a cr2032 lithium cmos backup battery- the settings it fell into were default. gee, never had that happen before.
must have turned that machine off too much- running 24/7 is better.
