How does Giveawayoftheday pick the game/program that is going to be given away?

offlineEnglish ModThis works two different ways. Sometimes software and game developers come to GOTD to try and spread the word of their product. Also, the team will take some of the suggestions people give (within reason) and contact the developers. They explain how their product is wanted and let them know how much their product could be advertised through this method. They set up a schedule with the developers so the team and the developers each know the day their product will be offered. However, none of this is ever advertised by either party because the object is to give it out to GOTD fans who rate and spread the word on it. If it were advertised word would get out and people would come just on the day it was offered. Giveaway of the Day is a fantastic site who's method actually works because it really does give users the chance to discover software and games they would never find or try otherwise.
