Okay when SVR was first put up I thought the trojan was because of "SeekService". However I just download the updated version of SVR and Avira detects the same exact trojan during install as before. False positive? I don't know, maybe, but I am not about to trust this software on my computer.
Is Streaming Video Recorder REALLY clean?

Say, is the version from their website clean?

Not according to SiteAdvisor.
However I am not sure why it should matter. This trojan reading has nothing to do with GOTD's wrapper especially considering that the setup install file is not in a wrapper.

Ashraf, that's a generic heuristic routine on Avira. I've gotten that hit a number of times. I can't advise you not to be cautious, but I'm betting false hit. Avira describes the risks as low, and you can see from their description, it's a genric heurstic hit:
"TR/Dropper.Gen
Description:
A generic detection routine designed to detect common family characteristics shared in several variants. This special detection routine was developed in order to detect unknown variants and will be enhanced continuously."

watcher,
Figures Avira is known for false positives. Usually at this point I would say "yes it is clean" because GOTD is usually very good about keeping their software clean but you gotta understand how my trust was deteriorated by the fact that the download included a real trojan (opt in of course) first time around.
