   hello i wonder if anyone can help with a technical problem. after a recent reformat every time i right click on desktop or system windows everything freezes and i have to reboot right click works on taskbar, i would be gratefull for any advice thank you spud

   If it's Vista I had the same problem.

   Right click my computer > properties > Advanced system settings > settings > uncheck the radio button next to an item called ''Enable desktop composition'' (without quotes) then apply > ok > ok

   Try going into your System control panel applet, and there should be a performance button on one of the tabs. Click the radio button that says best performance. OK all dialogs, reboot, and report result.

   to GMMan sorry i have not replied until now got a bit late for me last night. tried your idea but still the same thanks anyway system is xp media centre with net framework 3.5. iam just going to get my sledge hammer now
