   Until now I haven't had any doubt that the software given on a particular day on GAOTD is actually the version that is advertised. But, if you look when you install todays(FlashSpringPro) its actually the demo version that they give out for free on their website. I was really shocked to see you giving away a $200 product to us for free.

   This is by no means trying to flame any of the parties involved. I simply want to know if I did something wrong since what you download isnt a registered copy.

   Thanks, and again I am not trying cause any trouble. I appreciate everything GAOTD does everyday and love the concept.

   Immediately below the download link you would've clicked there is the following instructions:

   Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software. Carefully read the instructions which you can find in readme.txt file. This readme.txt file is enclosed with all our downloads.

   1. Unzip the package into a folder on your hard drive. It will contain the following 3 files. ACTIVATE.exe SETUP.exe and README.txt

   2. Carefully read the instructions in README.txt

   If you are running WINZIP - you will need to open the Downloaded FlashSpringPro.zip using "Classic Mode". "Wizard Mode" will run Setup.exe automatically and you will never see the README.txt or ACTIVATE.exe

   Or just ditch WinZIP, for either:
   WinRAR (shareware) http://rarlabs.com/
   7-Zip (Freeware) http://www.7-zip.org/

   Hope That Helps.

   Maybe someone at GOTD should create a FAQ Section somewhere - because this question/answer would be a great start. - Then we can just point to that each time it comes up. :)

   I never said it wasnt activated.. I did all that. But, if you look at the about box from within Powerpoint on the toolbar it says its a demo version.

   I did look and it doesn't refer to any demo. Just plain and good.

   Could it have something to do with me using it with Powerpoint 07? It installs fine and everything. It just says Demo where it should say giveawayaday on your pic.

   Might be maybe check their website and find out.

   I use Office 2003 for teachers & Students, my fiance being a teacher before you ask!

   System Requirements: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003, Microsoft Office with PowerPoint 2000, PowerPoint 2003 recommended,Pentium-III/AMD Athlon 500 MHz, 256 Mb RAM, 100 Mb free hard disk space

   Well it seems like more a problem with the activation step then the actual installation. Since it installs and works fine.

   Some people are just idiots when it comes to reading the instructions.

   They just don't get install (using setup.exe) close program then run activate.exe.

   They also don't understand the activate file needs bothways connection to the server here via the internet.

   One to send a packet of data to the server, the server checks it's within the limits (thats in the giveaway period) then a packet of data coming back writing to your registry.

   Of course sometimes the setup.exe is also the activation file within, then a little
   pop up gives you name and serial before install.

   I think some people get so excited (like seeing a large banknote on the floor and no-one is around) they lose all their marbles and have a blank moment or three.

    I dont mean to be a pain. But, I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it, activated it 3 times now and everytime it always says it a demo. I am sorry for apparently acting like an idiot.

    Groan .... "If you do what you always did; you get what you always got." I really don't mean to seem rude really. This is not the first and willnot be the last. Please read AND follow instructions completely. There are no short cuts. Almost all GotD offers have "activation" prior to completing install. You are not an exception that you are the ONLY one to have this problem. If you doubt that; take time to read over these forums. It is not GoTD's fault, as they ask everyone to read the instructions.
    I am lazy most of the time and use the "Un-offical Giveaway of the Day Launcher" which makes the process automatic almost all the time. (You can do a search for it from this forum. Tjchan created it for free.)

    Mabe I am one of those idiots ... but now 6 months later I finally have need for this software (Flashsrpint Pro 2) and I am one that never could get this one to activate, so I have missed out & only have the EVAL version. Ugh!!!!
