   Hi Admin,

   THANKS for the GAOTD site and the Forum.

   Again today (04/23/09)I encountered the same problem that I have reported before ... Today's Comment Page can NOT be saved.

   Page is for "Giveaway of the Day - Wondershare DVD to Flash Converter"
   http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/wondershare-dvd-to-flash-converter/

   ERROR Message: "This webpage could not be saved."

   It is frustrating as heck reporting the same problem over & over. If you are locking these pages on purpose ... please say so ... so folks like me are not wasting their time ...

   Also, when I tried to print a hard copy ... it locked up my printer and I had to reboot.

   Gonwk,

   I have no idea what you are talking about but it seems you want to print the comments from each GOTD correct? If a normal print is not working, why not take a screenshot and print that?

   FastStone Capture should do the trick. Use the scrolling window capture tool. Then in the editor just highlight the section you want, save it, and print it.

   Sorry,gonwk, I can not reconstruct the error you are reporting. I copied and pasted the whole and parts of the page, I took several snapshots with 3 different tools, I archived the page and converted it to .pdf. My printer did not lock up and I haven't got to reboot.
   Please check on your side of the cable.
   I do not think the GOTD-team has locked their page, and if they did, they may do it; it is their site.
   The GOTD-project is a great opportunity for us users to get commercial software for free - that's why you are here and that's why I am here. Constructive criticism and wishes for future programmes are appreciated by the GODT-team. Making demands is IMHO not appropriate.

   gonwk.. I really cannot understand why in the world you want to save the pages, or for that matter print the comments pages? Makes no sense to me. Perhaps you can explain WHY you need to do this? If you really need to this, perhaps you can highlight, copy, and paste into notepad??

   I periodically have the same problem. I also like to save the comments, particularly for software I download. The workaround I use is to print to pdf.

   Hey gownk, save yourself some disk space and money spent on consumables. Check out Evernote.com. You can get a free account which allows you to save all kinds of stuff on line or if you prefer, there is a desk-top client. I use it all the time and haven't bumped up against the 40meg per month bandwidth limit for free accounts. There's a bookmarklet to go with IE or Firefox that allows you to highlight stuff on a page then use the bookmarklet to tag the information and transfer it to your account.

   with firefox you can get Save Complete Saves a webpage completely, providing a better alternative to the flawed built-in save functionality of Firefox. and FireShot it save as bmp or jpg so on,clipmarks firefox & IE http://clipmarks.com all are free.

   THANKS a Bunch for all of your replies. Here is another I found ... don't get any e-mail notification of the Reply Posts on a Thread that you are tracking.

   I see the "RSS Feed for this Topic" thingy above this comment window ... but what about if I don't Understand RSS Feed and Don't feel SAFE using it ... oh well.

   But today, 14 May 2009 again I have the same problem that I reported before CAN'T SAVE A PAGE ... here is the link (http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/wondershare-music-converter/). It seems this Page Saving Problem on GAOTD is sporadic ... like it has Mind of it's Own!!!

   To answer one of you folks who asked WHY i like to save a page ... like the other poster said for the Software that I choose to download I like to keep the Posts of the folks because I can refer back to it IF I run into some problems with the Program ... that's all.

   I was trying to use PDFCreator to print to PDF ... but the damn thing Chokes big time ... so I? have to try LAKJIN's software suggestion.

   As far as Archiving Online I ain't crazy about it since I have lost a big chunk of my info that way!

    Well, no need to worry about RSS. It won't mess anything up on your machine. If you want to try, our man Bubby has posted a lot of links, including video, that will explain the whole thing:
