Just happened to notice a new entry from the team in the project blog. If you haven't seen it, Paragon Software was very happy with the reception they got on the 8th for their very well recieved Personal Drive Backup software. So, if you like Paragon, GOTDs got another convert. Paragon's promising more giveaways. I don't know much about them, though I see they also do cellphone applets. In any case, converts are always welcome!
GOTD blog entry, 4-20, has praise from Paragon.

I'm pretty excited. They seem like a pretty good company. I can't wait to get my hands on one of their recovery boot discs. The only concern is that they might plug up the GAOTD bandwidth again (remember that 241 MB behemoth? Took me a really long time to get it). Maybe GAOTD will set up a mirror or something for those days. We can only hope.

Paragon is a good company.
Looking at some older Paragon cds that came with a computer magazine, I noticed they contained separate setups for the 32 bit and 64bit version of the program.
So it might be a good idea to split the downloads too.
Not only for maintaining the bandwidth but also for users with slow dial up connections,as a lot of them probably were desperate not being able to download within the time limit.Posted 15 years ago # -
That was true for Drive Backup Personal. It contained 32-bit, 64-bit, recovery disc maker, manuals, and an autorun launcher. They could have split it into 32-bit, 64-bit, and everything else. Maybe the compression quality could be ramped up as well (if it isn't).
