I downloaded Starburn 11 about a week or so ago. I DID read the "read me". It DID NOT say that any registration had to be keyed in by hand or any "gray box" alluded in a reply to another poster.
This version 11 looks like a nice interface and has lots of nice bells and whistles, and I'd like to keep it. But now, I've uninstalled a full working version for a trial version thanks to the invisible "gray box". Thanks for nothing!!!!
I'd like to ask GAOTD staff to please vet the installation instructions, or standardize them. There are far too many people who miss good down loads because of some goofy new instruction.
Furthermore, with Starburn resetting the browser home page irretrievably, the instructions they give to undo that is quite disingenuous, and they don't work: THEY DON'T WANT US TO RESET OUR HOMEPAGE TO WHAT WE WANT! This has gone on for some time. A couple of giveaways back of Starburn, someone else asked about this, and some rep from the Rocket Division gave a really nasty A-hole answer to the effect that the individual was laughably stupid for downloading their program, and installing in such a way:
NOW READ THIS: putting a checkbox to opt out of home page change is one thing, but FAILING TO DISCLOSE THAT SHOULD YOU FAIL TO UNCHECK THE BOX, YOUR HOMEPAGE IS CHANGED PERMANENTLY BY HIDDEN CODE IS JUST PLAIN MALWARE!
So Bubby, how about:
1) REAL, WORKING instructions on how reset MY homepage from Rocket Division (Firefox),
2) How to render my trial Starburn 11 fully functional (now that it uninstalled my v10 pro)!!!
