HELP!
GAOTD's servers sometimes experience access glitches and downtimes that can interfere with activation and posting. Today's apparently been one of those days. It's frustrating when it happens. The old suggestion of "try try again" is the only solution. Maybe keep an eye on the forum to see if anyone says "it's back up."
Frustrated by having my reply to a poster on the comments board eaten by the glitch, I mistakenly reposted a version of it from memory on the wrong thread. I'll post it here again in hopes EDRAW poster #54 sees it -
Yo, #54/Celt42-
EDraw saves work product to its proprietary format by default (as does Photoshop) so you can revise it at a later date. According to the Dynamic Help column (which, unfortunately, cannot be copied and pasted) you'll find that you can use Save As to save work product in a variety of standard formats - PDF, HTML, Graphic Formats, TIF, etc.
Far as I can tell, the BIZARRE thing about EDraw is that you can't SAVE AS the way virtually every other program on the planet handles that option. Instead of it being readily available under the HOME tab, you first have to click on the round ED button in the top left to drop down yet another non-standard menu with the SAVE AS and other options. I intensely dislike nonstandard GUIs like this (overly large navbar/ribbon and all-or-nothing drop down option that sucks up way too much monitor space), but the software itself is versatile and comprehensive.
Strike a blow for Tibet... use the free software but import accurate quality map clip art. Helloooo, Dali!
BTW- Never click the UPGRADE button on any software you get from GAOTD. Your lifetime license may well be destroyed.
It only happens on one of my computers. Other 2, with xp or vista, works fine.
Any ideas? I'm running out of time here!
It's been happening today on mine (blocked the posting of comments but NOT the activation) and I see where others mentioned being blocked, too, but I don't recall if they were speaking strictly about activation or posting or both. That you're saying it only happens on one of your PCs is interesting ideed. Hints at a settings conflict, and I saw a post (on the comments board, I think) that offered hints to modify settings. I didn't bother following the poster's suggestions because I am just freaking tired of tweaking settings for one site only to find it mucks up compatibility with another. See if you can find that post. Sorry I can't offer any other help.
Check posts #61 and #62- http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/edraw-max-43/
I see where poster #65 refers to a familiar (to me) error message "“The server at http://www.edrawsoft.com is taking too long to respond.” That suggests that the order of calls is out of whack, as I would think it should call out to GAOTD activation before trying to call out to Edraw. If your firewall is blocking Edraw's IP addie, you'll never rollover to the activation. I set my firewall to block a lot of unfamiliar or undesirable IP ranges, so I've encountered that glitch in the past. Since the first of the year, I'm encountering it a LOT, suggesting that maybe Internic's got a new hub (possibly called NTT America or Net Access Corporation or something like that). I'm running all my scans just to make sure my PC hasn't picked up an unwanted bit of malware that's playing redirection games.
Download the file from emax site and use the serial in the .txt document and see if that works.
