I can't seem to find a way to add folders to my directory. I like to keep my downloads and files very organized and dumping everything in one spot will not work great for me. Any suggestions?
As always, thanks.

Never mind, I got a very knowledgeable GeekSquad guy who explained it to me and fixed 4 things that were driving me crazy. I'm getting a little happier.
It would have been nice if you shared the Geek's tips. The only thing I know is to open the folder and click on "Home/New folder" in the menu at the top.
Or ask Microsoft, as they made the thing:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-new-folder#1TC=windows-7
This recipe for Windows 7 still works for Windows 10.
I am no geek, but I can google "new folder windows 10"
The best thing he told me is that if you right click on the start icon it gives you the menu that looks like Windows7. And yes he explained about creating a new folder by right clicking and renaming it.
One thing I haven't figured out yet is how to see the file extensions so I can create a shortcut to the desktop. I downloaded today's game but when I clicked on the title instead of giving me a list of the components including the exe file, it opened the game. Anyone know how to get around this?
I don't have Windows 10 but if it's like 7 then you just need to change the Folder Options. Click "Start", enter "folder options" in the search box, select "folder options" from the results, click the "view" tab, and deselect "hide extensions for known file types".
While you're there, I'd also select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" because hidden files and folders annoy me.
right click on the start icon: the key combination Windows key and X gives the same.
You can install Classic Shell if you prefer the W7 startmenu. At the top of that menu is the icon of the W10 menu. So that is not gone and can be shown by clicking on it. But it is hidden in normal situations. My old W10 desktop has "lost" its W10 Start Menu, so I use the Classic Shell instead on that machine. On the others I prefer the W10 Start Menu as it gives me a method to emulate my iPad desktop and keep the Windows desktop clean. See http://www.classicshell.net/
Chris$,

I do it a bit different. The hidden files/folders that I want to see, like ProgramData and AppData, I right-click on the folder and select "Properties". Then I uncheck the "Hidden" attribute and tell it to apply the change to all lower folders.
If you don't do it soon after you upgrade or get a computer, it will take a long time to get it all done for ProgramData and Appdata due to the number of folders.
Then if there is a folder you don't want to see -- like the update folder for MS Office or that stupid cache file from BigFish games, you can manually hide them just to keep your root level clean.
Thanks it worked perfectly. I see that now Big Fish Games lets you customize where you want to install the game and lets you bypass their annoying nag screens when you exit the game so isolating the exe file may not be as important as it was in the past. I'll probably continue to do it because I don't trust BFG.
