   I got an email from somewhere saying they are giving this game away this weekend.
   I have just got it downloaded, so I have no clue of what its like to play, but it looks fun.
   You have to get a key first and then download the game. Dial up users it took me 4 hours at 350kbs.

   Almost forgot, I used a regular email for the key and I didn't get it till this morning, but I went ahead and used a gmail account to last night and the key was sent almost immediately.

   I'm pretty sure that is a free game.I think it's the same thing as F.E.AR. only I think it's a free version and it doesn't have as much weapons or something. I think you can only play multiplayer. I played it a while ago and I wasn't any good (actually shot a couple of my own teammates) because I had no idea what I was doing. I got booted off a couple of servers, but it never interested me. The only reason I downloaded it was for my brother, but he never played it. So I ended up uninstalling it.

   Oh that would be terrible. Makes me wonder who manages these things. I am trying to installing at this second, but if I have to go through all that to, I will just get rid of it to.
   I post in a bit after I get it going and let everyone know if its worth it.

   The graphics are really good, but I think you have to be into shooter games to really get into it and I don't like shooter games. Here's a free game http://secondlife.com/ if you are not interested in shooter games. I have never played it before though so I don't know what it is like.

   Well I just got my rear end kicked in the first five minutes. It didnt say anything about demo when I was playing or setting up.

   As for the shooter games, I want to get into them but they make it so hard. I'll have to set up for a joystick cause trying to use a keyboard is just to ruff. The last one I really liked was halo2, but that was on xbox.

   Yea the graphics were pretty sweet, though.I didnt experience any lag

   Hopping over to the GGOAD now, gonna give it a shot.

   Those of ya'll thinking of trying it. Go ahead. Even though I got stompped, it was still fun. I will definitely give it another go later.

   That second life looks ok to. I'll have to give it a go when I get some.

   If it's multiplayer only it's always been free to my knowledge. I loved the singleplayer game, but never got into the multiplayer side of it. Great graphics for a game that's three years old now.

   F.E.A.R. is one of my absolute favorite FPS's. However, Combat is the multiplayer aspect that was originally only included with the game. Not longer after the release of F.E.A.R., Monolith released Combat to the public. I never got into the multi-player mode either, but I hardly every do. Half-Life 2 has a great multi-player but be prepared to die a WHOLE bunch before you finally kill someone lol. I've never seen so many people so skilled with a gravity gun before!

   Txnnok: I am with you on that wanting to learn to play the FPS games. I am so stuck in the old school mode where it was you and the computer or the occasional linked to your friend playing against that I am lost. Anywho, wanted to tell you that Wizzard listed in week 11 a free game called GORE. It has a training mission in it that is a pretty decent size. It is you against the computer so you get to learn what you are doing and get use to it before being thrown to the wolves. I havent tried it online/multi-player yet, as I am still trying to be able to beat the training. I give GORE a big thumbs up for that. Give it a try. I know that I have tried a few of them and found myself where you say you were at. One even had me getting killed only to respawn with the them waiting to kill me again.

   Spawn raping is a common thing in some multiplayer games especially those where the number of kills directly reflects your rank and experience, which in turn can unlock better weapons. Consequently, it tends to be a free for all especially on public servers. The last time I went on a public server was for a game of Battlefield 2, playing on a map that I was very familiar with. After about 20 minutes and at least 10 or so deaths I'd not killed one player, and despite pumping a whole magazine into one guy who promptly hit me with one round and I was dead. I much prefer cooperative play where all the humans play against the games AI. It's much more fun and less manic.

   I helped out with a box server a few years ago where we ran several games such as America's Army and other FPS games, but it was by invitation only, so we were guaranteed not to get gamers who were only interested in points. It was brilliant.
   anyway, you'll find out what is soon enough. :)
