I can't get even that far. I have downloaded, run setup application, been transferred back to Giveawayoftheday and told that it is all complete (ie registered), but I cannot find WinUtilities Pro anywhere - and I have tried downloading again without any difference.
Does anyone have any advice?

Tried again and was able to register the program.Glad you got it working. In case it helps anyone, probably want to launch the app running as admin to register/activate.
I installed the Win U pro, but when I click on the desktop icon, nothing happens. I can see WinUtil.exe in Task Manager but the CPU is 0.
I'd stop the instance in Task Mgr. & try again. If you still don't see the program's window I'd try a restart, & if that didn't do it, check to see that it wasn't being blocked by security software -- you might have to add an exception for the program or its folder in your security software if or as possible.
It's also possible that Winutilities Pro is just incompatible with your system -- it uses some rather old files &/or code, so it may not work well with other software you've installed. I didn't try it with 10, but the requirements say it's compatible -- that could be wrong. Assuming it is compatible with the version of Windows you're running, you could try restarting in Safe Mode & see if Winutilities Pro runs there -- if it does, then something that's starting with Windows is preventing it from working properly.
Finding out what is usually a process of elimination, though searching for answers with Google/Bing can sometimes give you a good hint. What you'd want to do is stop one or more non-Microsoft apps or services from starting with Windows, the start Windows normally & see if it worked, if today's GOTD runs like it should.

If all you want is Winutilities Pro, download & install the trial, using the registration info in the GOTD readme.txt. That won't help of course with other GOTD offers -- downloading & running the trial will not always work.
In this case *if* you saw the installation dialog for Winutilities Pro, you could search for the "Winutilities" folder to make sure if it did or did not install. If it is there try running WinUtil.exe. Otherwise something likely prevented the installation routine from running. That has been known to happen with some security software.
If that's the case, sometimes you can disable the security software in its settings, or add an exception, but often the only way around it is to boot into Safe Mode with networking, installing & activating the software, then booting back into Windows normally.
