I installed Fairy Nook on a Win 8.1 Laptop and it runs normally up to the main menu, then the cursor disappears. The mouse is still working because if you "guess" where the cursor would be and click, it sometimes works. I can sort of play the game using the touchscreen but it is so slow that there is no enjoyment in playing it. Has anyone got any suggestions.
I would like to get the cursor working because it looks like a very nice game

Do you have a higher than 100% display option set? That can cause this kind of problem? Also, try setting the compatibility mode. I was transitioning a game to my laptop with 8.1 and it complained it couldn't do the graphics mode. I set the compatibility mode and it could!
