Well hello GOTD Admin, User, Lurker.

I would like to say first of all -Great Job- on the site.

Your showing the people of the internet that anything you put your mind to can be free. A few things though, I would like to point out in the recent days that you have been posting software that has by far better alternatives that are completely free. Todays alternative that 3/4 of the internet already knows about, is flashget. Flashget is completely free and ranked as the #1 Download manager on the planet. The games section is doing good but could be a lot better.

Also i would like to retract my statement earlier about -wanting- Trackmania sunrise, or anything made by the trackmania developers... I remembered that the reason i didn't actually buy Trackmania is that they developers are using a anti-whatever system called "Starforce" ... And let me say that starforce is absolutely evil... You would rather be infected with a virus then use anything with starforce in it.

A good show of users say the same thing, don't believe me?

A few suggestions for you though.

(Ill just add on my old list)

    FruityLoops v6.0
    DarkBasic
    FPS Creator
    RPG Maker XP
    Winamp Pro

Keep up the good work, and please... don't ignore my words

(Also respond in the forum a lot more... jeese :X)

  2. Well I know Flashget, Flashget and the like are a bit different, focused on single file downloads. I for one use Free Download Manager 2.1 which IMO beats Flashget.
As for the free software alternatives - well, free doesn't mean better. For example, I tested two free utilities that people compared to Flashpaste and removed both in 10 minutes, ended up using Flashpaste.
    Yes I know about StarForce=)

  3. Also, another example on free vs paid one - the only free whois service comparable to SmartWhois utility is Network Solutions one, but still Smart Whois is a bit better. Yes you can do queries with just Windows, but that's inconvinient.
I have free FireFox and keep it for it's plugins but I have to say IE code quality is a whole lot better, those FF memory leaks are there for years and still aren't fixed.
    So Free!=better IMO.

  7. And GTI Racing. That game has SICK! Graphics.

It's made by techland. A company you should be able to contact easily. Just give the game away after december. I wanna get it too.

Plus I can blog about it on gamespotting.net, so lots of peoples can see.

I have Free Download Manager 2.1 build428, 2003-2006. and it does not work with this web site in downloads. also can we put the games on Cd's after we activate it so that there is more space on the hard drive. The Games and orther Programs from Giveawayoftheday.com will still work.

A nice doc to pdf converter is:

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

It's free (opensource) and works well, too.

    Hi folks

Isn't flashget ( http://www.soft82.com/downloads/Windows/FlashGet ) working anymore for rapidshare.com ? I only download the "index.html" file... Same settings - same procedure worked for me a few days ago?

  14. For RapidShare, head over to http://www.orbitdownloader.com/

OrbitDownloader is a fairly new product that takes a different approach handling "different" sites such as RapidShare and Media site downloads.

For a comparison between download managers (If you know what features you want)
