Hi all. Anyone else here familiar with Leo Laporte of the Screensavers / Call for Help / the Lab? I know there are a bunch of tech geeks like me lurking around in here :)

Anyway, I've been a big fan over the years of Leo and his tv shows and podcasts. His show on G4 Tech TV here in Canada was canceled here in Canada and in Australia a couple months ago. For anyone else who was interested in this stuff checkout http://twitlive.tv/ for a Live with chat show! There is a schedule for the different times here http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=4qj83c651jkqcpmhvmp1pk9t58%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Los_Angeles

(sorry about the huge url .....Thats part of the reason I watch this show. To learn these things :)

Hope this isn't spammy or anything Bubby. I just thought some of the regulars here would be interested in this show. It's pretty cool

    Cheers, Grant

No problem Scuba. It's been live for a couple of weeks now and Leo is still working out the bugs...It's alot of fun though. And you get to see alot of familiar faces :) I miss alot of it because for me it airs when i'm at work....unless I skip out :)

    Where are you located?

  4. I listen to the twit podcasts when I can - sometimes they are quite good. (And download & listen on my schedule).

I think it was Call for Help and then switched to Screensavers,it was on for awhile but without Leo.It took on a younger attitude and seemed to go in a different direction.I didn't care to much for the change but still watched.
When it was Call for Help I was able to learn a lot,as I was just really starting to get interested in computers.

Yep. The Show went through some different changes and owners/broadcasters over the last 7 years or so.

With the new format it is ultimately better for everyone that cares about this type of programming.

Leo gets to broadcast his shows live with video....He literally walks to his studio now. Which also has benefits for him physically, and his wife & kids are a stones throw away :)

We get to hear and see the latest & greatest as it happens! No more 2 month old taped stuff. Also an opportunity to ask impromptu questions of Leo & his guests :)

Plus! This is the best part....The show is Live for anyone in the world that wants to watch! No more of the G4 Tech in Canada & (how-to?)Australia TV only crap.

The live video shows are currently hosted by Stickam. The most people logged on to the show concurrently that I've seen in the last two weeks was last Saturday at @ 5000. Leo mentioned today that Stickam has allowed his show the bandwidth for 100,000.

    I know...I sound like a commercial :) I'll shut-up now :)
