    Buy it link:

    http://www.ntwind.com/software/winsnap/register.html

    And then:

    Quote from their website:
It is FREE for personal, educational and non-commercial use!

    And:

Places that state it is freeware:
    http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsnap.html
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_winsnap/
    http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/WinSnap/1137173238/1
    http://realh.worldonline.co.uk/free.html (bottem of the page)
I am sure there are more.

Now, they say that you can buy it, but there are no limitations:

    Can anybody comfirm this??
    Thanks, Bob.

  2. This I believe is freeware. From the GAotD terms of use, it wouldn't matter as it's exactly the same as if you didn't register it. =(

The only reason you would register is for commercial use. And GAotD offerings cannot be used for that so legally, it's the same as offering SmartFTP as a GAotD offering (Which is also free for personal/educational use)...which is stupid.

  3. The only difference between the registered version and the unregistered is the display of a nag screen. That's it...no difference in functionality according to the author.

  4. What a waste of a giveaway... ha! :-D

Still, I suppose it eliminates the hassle of the unreliable activation process...

  6. yes it is. But you could only use it for personal use. The key allows you to use it for commerical use.

  7. But the giveaway terms of GOTD forbid commercial use.

  8. BuBBy is correct. It's personal usage only but without the "unregistered" message.
